La Quinta at Quail Valley Golf Course
About
La Quinta Course, one of the two regulation courses at Quail Valley, is a typical regulation course, slightly more difficult than El Dorado because of the water in play on 10 holes.

Tuesday prices, Saturday pace—
I play during the week to get away from the 25 handicap foursomes. For background, 11 handicap and play 3 times per week around the Houston area. I’ve played La Quinta twice and will never go back to Quail Valley. Quail Valley management only have respect for El Dorado—as a 30 year old male, who has played golf for 7 years, 4/20/21 was the first time I’ve ever called the pro shop requesting a Marshall. The Marshall had as much discipline as a Joe Biden immigration policy. On hole 14, a foursome, all within 35 yards of the green—there was a single waiting at 120 yards from the green, a two party on 14’s tee box, and 3 separate parties of minimum two people waiting after 13. Each of the foursome 3 putted. This was ridiculous, after chatting with the Marshall encouraging scramble play or skipping holes, he only laughed and smiled. The Marshall enforced nothing, and is obviously enjoying retirement. Extremely disappointing—to keep 5 parties waiting on a foursome, on a Tuesday. We skipped holes 16, 17, and 18–found out the next party ahead of the foursome were on the 18th green while they were on 16 tee boxes.
The fairways are basically 200-350 yards of speed bumps, you’ll feel like a jack hammer operator if you hit in regulation. Tee boxes need to breathe, sand traps need much attention, cart paths make Westheimer Rd appear as if it’s laid with gold, greens are trash.
Hot Deals daily for a reason—sad I gave this place business twice.
You can update and maintain a course, updating culture and management—different difficulty.
Cheaper but in Bad shape
The course is well laid out, but lot of water puddles on the fairways, the greens have also so areas without grass. Lots of fire ants :(
But enjoyable course
I think this is a very nice course I always enjoy playing it
In great shape
Played the la Quinta course , had a great time . Enjoyed the layout and the course conditions were fantastic.will play again and recommend to others. One thing to keep in mind is there is no turn so plan to play all 18 holes before seeing the clubhouse. Bathrooms are on the course and cart girl showed up around 10 holes in. So you may to get the first few drinks from the clubhouse before the first tee
La Quinta is getting better
The course is greening up nicely and the greens with a few exceptions are in really good shape putting medium fast and will hold a shot. Fairways and cart paths are and will always be bumpy. No speeding in cart on those guys but the fairway grass is greening up. Beverage cart was visible a couple of times and the course was patrolled by marshals. Good mid week hot deal rate also made it a great experience.
Good golf
The greens were just ok today, should be better soon. The grass on the fairways could be a little thicker. But for this time of year all in all I was satisfied.
Great Course and Value
Although not perfect condition this course does not disappoint.
Fairways seem to be very bumpy and uneven which provides for some tough lies.
Greens are a little rough as well.
Good value for the money.
A Must Visit
long course, forgiving fairways, some protected greens all make for a fun and challenging course. Course conditions really good at this time of year, so I can only imagine just how much better the course is during spring and summer. Definitely making return visits.
My Home Course
Love the course, my home course can play it in my sleep.
