Excellent course
We really enjoyed this course and envy the members. First off, the staff is very friendly. And so were several members who, while we were waiting to start, offered us advice on the course. The layout of the course is exciting. Excellent greens. There are 18 distinct holes, each with its own challenges. Holes 1-4 are no slouches but I'd say that the course really gets going at No. 5. No 9 was shocking --- an amazing dogleg with the approach over a ravine. Very happy to have played.
Addington in Lock Down
Visit didn't start to well with a grumpy greeting in pro shop. No real welcome, have you played here before, do you know where the 1st tee is.
Clubs need to find a way of generating revenue but a bit bizarre to have mobile bar right by (within a few yards) the 1st tee. Quite a few people hanging around, all a bit congested. Must be somewhere else they could locate it to give you a bit of space. Felt like you were teeing off in the middle of a garden party.
Course was a great challenge, greens were undulating, true and quick. Fairways struggling as a consequence of the dry period we have had, but most courses in the SE England have had similar problems. Lots of blind shots so will be back to play it again.
Excellent course and friendly staff
Really enjoyed this course which is fair but challenging and will only get better towards the summer months . Staff friendly too so would definitely recommend and play again in the future
A Tough but Fair Challenge
I have played The Addington for a number of years and the course is probably the best it has been. Over the past few years work has been done on extending tee boxes, replacing bunkers, removing trees and installing irrigation, all of which add to the quality of the course and playing conditions. The only criticism would be that the course has some small areas that could be tidied up where work has been done (rough areas, debris piles, fallen branches, etc) just off the fairways but these are aesthetic and don’t detract from the playing condition. The greens are as good as they have ever been and run fast and true.. a must play if you are in the London area..
2nd time a charm
Played The Addington on the back of a wet couple of weeks of weather. The course was in great shape considering and thoroughly enjoyed the round. Would highly recommend if you're looking to play over the winter.
A course not to miss
excellent attractive course, with challenging holes. superb greens, 18 holes in three and half hours. excellent value for money
An architectural gem
The Addington played firm and fast. The course asked questions about all aspects of my game, and it won more than my game did! Highly recommended.
Great Course so Close to London
Had a very enjoyable round at The Addington. Situated so close to London, it's great if you live in the City. Course was in great condition, very picturesque, challenging and tactical, (would recommend getting a course guide). Only negative is a couple of Par 5's on the back 9 struggle to offer full value due to a lack of yardage. I would definitely recommend a visit if you want to play a proper golf course. Being a Heathland course, it will also stand up to a wet British winter.
Always a pleasure
I keep coming back to The Addington. It's one of the courses I play for a special occasion and it is always great fun. This year the course was the driest I have known it and this made it particularly challenging with the extra run on the tight fairways but I still always enjoy it.
Simple the best !!
I had been a member of Wenthworth for 12 years before I left in April and I would pay and play this course at the drop of a hat instead of the East or Edinburgh ... I was totally staggered at how wonderful The Addington is !!!
What a Gem !!!
Won't be my last , in fact by the weekend I'm on it !!
Great Course
Great course, good experience, would play again.
