Poor communication and an unwelcoming experience for visitors

Checked in around an hour and a half before our booked tee time and found the clubhouse extremely busy and not particularly welcoming. It became clear there was a Saturday club competition taking place which had been delayed due to bad weather, which is understandable and not anyone’s fault.

What was unacceptable was that at no point during check-in, or when I returned to the pro shop later to confirm which tees we were playing, did anyone inform us that our tee time would be delayed. We arrived on the tee at our scheduled time only to be told we would need to wait at least another two hours before we could play.

I went back to the pro shop to ask whether we could instead play one of the other 9-hole loops, which had clearly not seen any groups start for some time. We were told, somewhat abruptly, that we could do so but only for 9 holes. There was no apology for the lack of communication and no attempt to offer any form of concession given the situation.

Overall the organisation and communication were poor, and the atmosphere felt unfriendly towards visitors. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the club and would not return

Red Course very muddy

Decided playing Farleigh after reading reviews on how good the drainage was and after a nice round at Woldingham (which is almost next door) a few days before.Farleigh has 3x9hole couses , Red ,Blue and Yellow. Apon arrival we were notified we would be playing the Red and Blue courses. When we arrived at the tee the fourball in front let us play through as there was only two of us which was a good start however the fourball in front was rather slow which led to the fourball behind us to hit up to us a couple of times ! The red course was waterlogged if you missed the fairway which made it a very muddy first 9 however the greens were very good. The Blue course was alot better than the red . If i was to play this course agsin i would have to ensure is was Blue and Yellow ... red ciurse was poor.. Woldingham was a better course even with airiated greens.

Incredible conditions for winter golf

The course is well kept and in fantastic condition. The greens were brilliant but very fast considering how much rain we've had over the last few months.

Best winter greens I’ve ever seen

Great golf course with brilliant facilities. I played the yellow and red loop, which were both enjoyable yet didn’t feel too similar. The course was in top notch condition for time of the year and I couldn’t get my head round how fast the greens were. Only downfall was the pace of play

Dodgy start but turned all good

We arrived and there was no record of our booking due to Golf Now and Farlieghs systems not registering email bookings. The guy in the pro shop couldn’t help but said we could wait to see if there was any no

shows around our tee time. The club did give us 20% off our breakfasts. Still no tee time until the South African member of staff saved the day and made a decision which gave us a tee time on the Red and Yellow loops. Course conditions were great Tees and greens immaculate and quick. £43.75 was good value. Would love to see the red posted ditches with water in. Liked the yellow loop better Tight but some great holes.

Lovely club & course not helped by conditions

First time playing here for more than 3 years. Played Yellow & Blue. Preferred the blue. Fairways were rock hard and there must have been a comp as the pin positions were brutal. Keep the ball straight or your in trouble. Course was really windy but there is nothing they can do about that. Gorgeous clubhouse with terrace. Lovely place and worth the green fee in my opinion

Interesting course in great conditon, friendly staff with a modern feel!

Having played golf for over 15 years in the south east and being the first time I have been to farleigh I can honestly say it’s a gem. The course was in a really good condition even given the dry spell, the layout is interesting with every hole having its own feel. The clubhouse is modern and vast with plenty of seating both inside and outside overlooking the putting green and pitching green. I can honestly say the biggest surprise was the average of the people playing golf there, it was full of 20-40 year olds and felt like a very young and fresh vibe. Everyone was polite and welcoming and just had a very nice feel to the place. If it was not 1 hour from my house I would sign up immediately and my own club could learn a lot from farleigh!

Great course, just need a GPS

Really great course no getting away from it. Every hole was in really good condition. Tricky to always know where to go as the tee boxes didn’t have numbers so unless you have a gps or a scorecard it’s tricky to figure out. Was a build up of play a fair bit but overall a really great course. Would definitely go back probably best with a buggy. Feels like a flash club but really great for most levels.

Very enjoyable course. Great layout and a good challenge. Hit the fairway and the ball rolls miles. Greens were slick and true.

Enjoyable Course

Inland links styled course, with dry fairways and a constant breeze. Course layout and conditions were excellent and greens were quick and true.

Good off course facilities to use before the round. Played blue and yellow and would like to return one day to play the red 9.

Welcoming Club

A lovely experience as usual. A great welcome & service and all 3 loops of 9 are a delight to play. A very good golf layout, with tees, fairways and greens in good or very good condition. At under £35 this is good value. Practice facilities are excellent too.
