About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

It’s gotten way better
This place had gone way downhill, but clearly something has changed. Greens seem to have improved. Fairways are in solid shape for winter and so are tees.
I feel like something must have changed. New ownership or something. I’ll be back.

greens were good, the rest of the course was still in bad shape. mud everywhere, every tee shot covered in mud, no rain for a week. Cpo holes had to walk thru mud to access fairways. mud surrounding every cart path. broken cart paths, tractor tracks thru fairway and rough. standing water and mud were the theme of the day. needs more time to recover, if it will at all
Love the Layout and Greens
This course could be country club quality it just needs some TLC. Some drainage issues that cause problems but I do love this course. Remember the days we were paying half this price. Wish they had the money for improvements!
Course in great shape and great course layout
Course is a great track and is in great shape but I feel it’s a little pricey at $71 I feel it should be around $55-$60 do to still having some minor course shape issues
Great course
I've been in Dallas a year and I'm leaving next week and my biggest regret is that yesterday was the first time I played this course. I let reviews keep me away. My bad. This course is such a great lay out, elevation changes and great greens. And for someone like me who doesn't get more than 225 off the tee it's still VERY playable. I'd reccomend this place to anyone.
Much improved
Haven’t played in a year or so and greens are in much better shape now. A little slow but grass is great. Pace of play was awful, 5 hour round. Driving range balls and mats are horrible as well.
Comeback!
I’ve played this course for many years. After the Bug Freeze, they struggled to keep their greens and course in shape. Indeed, it got pretty bad for a while. I’m happy to say that the course is now in EXCELLENT shape! Congrats to the greens crew for bringing the course back in great playing condition!
Pace of play was long, but it was cart path only which slows things down no matter where you are.
Fun Track
I play here a couple times per month. I like the layout of the holes and the tee selection makes it quite difficult from the tips, or for those who choose whites much more manageable.
The course is in good shape this year. Greens are med/fast and in mostly good condition.
Things they could improve
1 Add yardage screen for cart
2 Add Ball Washers at tee boxes
3 Carts are a bit beat up and run slow
All in all it’s worth checking out if you are looking for a course in the lower price range that has some character.
The course layout in the staff are super friendly greens are in good shape fairways and tee boxes little rough but it's very good price for the money
Never Disappoints
The course is in immaculate condition. We got caught in torrential downpour but the course drained quickly and we were able to complete our round.
So so muddy
This was my second time playing the course. It was in really rough shape. It appears that they don’t have any kind of drainage system off the greens. It was the morning after a light rain, and there was standing water in multiple spots on almost every hole. The saturated soil made iron and wedge shots extremely difficult.
Also, on the 9th fairway, there were dozens of range balls scattered everywhere. The range was closed when we were there and our tee time was 8:42am, so it appears the course has no procedure in place to clear range balls from the course.
I doubt we’ll be back. There are so many good options nearby.
