About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Play Westridge or Frisco Lakes
Greens are still torched from freezes and full of bumpy crab grass that has moved in. The course condition has gone downhill from when I played it last over a year ago. Ridgeview is the now the new Plantation. Avoid at all costs, there are better tracks similarly priced in the same area.
Ridgeview Ranch
5 hour 20 minute round, no marshal, no starter, no water on the course, greens bumpy and full of poa - ana. Not what I expected for $72.

Greens need work
Always enjoy playing here but about half the greens are spotted with crabgrass. Makes the greens very bumpy.

Bumpy Greens
The bunker renovations have really helped the pace of play! The greens need work. There is new grass(?) Poking through and some of the putts were like watching a ball in a pachinko machine :).
I love this course though and will continue playing it every other week when possible!

Too much rough
The course is in pretty rough condition right now. Still working on sand traps, waiting for fairways to soften up, tee boxes and green both need work.

Fairways are nothing but hardpan
I used to play this course all the time but I haven't been
back since I moved to Phoenix 8 years ago. I guess I forgot that courses in TX do not overseed at this time of year. However, the fairways were horrendous and, for the price, not worth playing. And, then there were a group of 8 people playing the same hole.

Nice course!
Good layout, 131 slope rating tells you this course is to be respected. Could use a little more water on the fairways. The greens are rough with extra grass making it hard to get a smooth putts.

It’s not worth it
This course used to be in great shape, I just play today 3/13/22 and greens are in very bad shapes and very disappointing. Most of the greens have weeds all over the green that you can’t even putt straight. Some of the bunkers are under repair and it doesn’t even have sand in it. Fairway and tees are very hard.
Go play some where else like Twin Creeks or Trails of Frisco, it is cheaper and much better condition.

Greens are in terrible condition.
Fairways are well maintained but the greens make everything an automatic 2/3 put as it was like putting over a mountain range on the green.
The practice green was excellently maintained but for $70 tee time the other greens were horrendous.
The tee-boxes were also unlevel and poorly managed.

Terrible greens
Greens had a terrible case of poa ana or some sort of weed on them, like putting on top of broccoli.
No way someone should pay over $20 to play this course. Could not even play 18th due to bunker work......
