About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Terrible greens
Greens had a terrible case of poa ana or some sort of weed on them, like putting on top of broccoli.
No way someone should pay over $20 to play this course. Could not even play 18th due to bunker work......

Greens are overrun with Po!
I don't think I have ever seen a course with as much bad growth of Po greens embedded in the putting greens ... it was everywhere, and I know from the past that it has become an ever-increasing problem for this course.
I won't have a desire to play it again until that is fixed. The group I was playing with also felt like we were playing on a surface that has buttons all over the greens ... can't hold even the best of putts like that.

Always a good round but…
Fix the greens. Kill the poa annua. They are too bumpy

Greens need work
Played here before and was good but recently the greens need a lot of work. Have some other grass growing and causing it to be very bumpy. Not worth the money but they are redoing the bunkers so hopefully they will clean up the greens too. Good layout and when in good conditions a lot of fun and worth it

Other Golfers
Watch out for the Golfers around you when playing this course. The group behind me passed us at the turn which slowed play. Even after we had a discussion about it. Good course good layout greens need work. But watch out for the clientele. And a single joined us who played ahead of our group. Even got on a par 3 green before the rest of us hit our shots.

Greens
Greens have a disease causing small quarter size growth throughout the green. Very bumpy.
Way overpriced
Every green has weeds growing out of it. Only one bunker on the entire course that wasn’t trash. Would not recommend.

The greens were so horrible with patches of weeds coming out. The biggest disappointment is we paid $75. Never will play there again.

poor conditions
bunker renovations which is fine as they advised in advance. every green, other than the practice green, were overrun with poana and extremely bumpy. bare spots on tee boxes and fairways.. were there was grass,, it was very thin. I understand it is winter, but other courses at even lower price points in much better condition. this course out of rotation of where we play for the foreseeable future
