About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Terrible greens
Layout and bunker renovations when complete will be great. Do not play here for few months as the greens are atrocious and not worth the price of admission.
Good Course for the money
They are redoing the bunkers right now, but we still enjoyed playing and looking forward the the new sand!
Need to fie the head greens keepsr
This is a very good and playable course. As much as they charge and given the weather in Dallas. The greens on the course should almost as good as the practice greens. I know every course keeps they practice greens the best they can, but seriously. Every green 1-18 was like a mine field.

Renovations
Overall the courses in good shape it’s a great playable course however they’re going through bunker renovations to one that are completed on the front side are fantastic the backside currently under construction 11 is non-playable and you have to skip the hall because of the construction they should give you some discount

Come on guys
No mention that the course is under renovations. 11 was closed some of the others your supposed to tee off with construction in the fairways or approach with crew by the green. Made for a frustrating round.

Under construction
Wasn’t advised until check in that #2 hole and many traps under construction or not playable. Greens inconsistent. A fair amount of fairway areas are dirt or washed out or muddy. Won’t be going back anytime soon.

Need more communication
Doing some renovation on the course, when we checked in, we were informed that hole #2 was closed due to work around the green.
I believe this should have been communicated at the time of booking.

Nice layout but needs work
Course has a nice layout and has the potential to be one of the better courses in this area. The greens are in the worse shape of any I’ve seen. They don’t seem to be interested in fixing them. Tee boxes have little or no grass. Apparently, no winter grass was planted anywhere.
Slow play on a nice day
Players in front of us and in front of this group were incredibly slow and seemed to not care an ounce. Would love to see some form of marshaling to slow pokes.

You are doing a dis-service to your fellow golfers. You give one of the worst conditions golf courses in the metroplex an excellent review and say they have excellent conditions. Be honest, this course is in terrible condition.
