Watters Creek - Jan 3, 2021
I highly recommend this course for playability, friendliness of staff and cost. My group plays here almost every weekend because of these things.
Positives: They have tee boxes for every ability level of golfers. The greens run very true and you can get a shot to hold from within 150 yards of the green. The course does not return to the clubhouse after the 9th hole, but they have a snack shack (The Turn) where you can not only get your snack, but also they have golf balls and tees available as well. Located between holes 2/3 and 9/10. Full practice facility completes reasons to play and practice here. Course manager Matt leads a very competent group of staff.
Areas of Improvement: More consistent use of Marshalls to keep pace of play going. Hole #6 could use a little tree removal to keep pace of play up to the rest of the course. Keep the white tees on hole 14 at the upper tee as from the lower tee half of the tee box aims at a large tree less than 50 yards from the tee box.

The two men that work the club house are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. I have had several negative experiences with these two on different occasions. The practice facility is amazing. I started out playing here and I play here all the time because I love the course which is the only reason it received a second star. Recently it seems that every time I visit, the range is completely full, the course is overbooked, and the club house staff has terrible attitude. Sadly I will not be returning.
Great staff, pace of play is terrible
This is my home course, I play it weekly. The practice facility is awesome. The 18
Hole course has a great layout and greens are well maintained. The staff are probably the friendliest in N Dallas.
The pace of play however is beginning to kill the qualities of the course. I played today and it took 4 1/2 hours. That’s insane and can be fairly easily resolved if there were marshals on the course that could nudge them along.

Nice Course, but some tough holes
This is a beautiful course (in good condition) with a few quirky holes that made it challenging for an 18 handicap. Thankfully, we (my wife and I) played with two nice gentlemen who knew the course and could offer help on what the best shot placement was. While we enjoyed the day, this would not be our first choice for our next round, just due to some very difficult holes.

Good course, atrocious pace of play, staff is not too friendly
Challenging golf course and in good shape for this time of year.
Absolutely awful pace of play! For some reason, they were allowing groups of 5 people to play together. Nobody out on course to enforce groups of 5 also hitting multiple balls.
They do not seem concerned with COVID rules. Some unfriendly guy tried putting me in a cart with a random person. That was not happening. I thought some of the reviews about this topic were BS, but they are factual.
Lots of potential here, just not sure the other factors make it worth it.
Was only able to play 13 holes. Note I teed off just after 1:30pm.

Sooo Slow
I understand there was a 30 minute frost delay but I should have been able to finish more than 12 holes in 41/2 hours. That just seems like over booking to me. So with that, there are far too many choices, I will not be back.

Greens in Rough Shape
Normally Watters Creek is always in great shape. Not sure what happened but they let the greens really deteriorate! They have way too many divots that aren’t being repaired. Had too may putts knocked off course by hitting a divot. It was really surprising and disappointing because Watter Creek usually has outstanding conditions on their greens. To be fair, the tee boxes and fairways were fine. Hopefully they get on top of this.
