About
One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Golfer Reviews
Nice track!!!
Greens were great, fairways lush, pace of play was fast.
How do j get early morning tee times? The website is booked two weeks out????
I found a hobby over $30 and it was a great overall value for this course. Course was indecent condition considering the heat. Greens could’ve been a little faster and smoother but no real Complaints. Happy to have this course in my neighborhood.
Top Greens
I was extremely impressed with the greens and fairways on this course. Paid under $50 for a mid morning Fri tee time. All 4 of us were just blown away that this was a public course. We will be back!!
Pecan Hollow - beautiful course - bring your own water!!!
We play here as often as we can. Love the trees and the breeze that always seems to blow, even on the hottest of days. NOTE: Bring your own water.
Great Conditions
From the pro shop workers, starter, marshalls, and to the cart girl, this course is second to none! Great layout with all the natural preserves and the greens are smooth even in this Texas heat!
Always a treat
Pecan Hollow is one of those DFW "finds" for golf courses. Great greens, good layout, fun to play - and pace of play is usually good.
Great Course and Staff
Brad - the Marshal was just great! He is a great ambasador for the Course. We love playing here and will be back and refer others!
