Nice -for Public course
WC is a nice layout for a Public Course- great practice area and even Executive course is good. My only issue with WC , & many public courses is they don't empower the Marshall. There was very slow group 3 groups ahead of us, caused large back up. Marshall went by 3-4 times, never sped up, never let anyone play through. there was at least 1-2 empty holes ahead of them :-( took 4.5 hours to play- could have easily been under 4 hours goal, if that group sped up. If I was playing in Afternoon, I would expect this, but 8:00am on a Weekend morning- please- push slow groups!
Sold and fun course
Love what they have done with the redesign a few years ago. Much fairer and enjoyable than before.
Avoid the water and it'll be a nice day :)
I’ve played Traditions several times in the last year as it is one of my favorite courses to play northeast of the Metroplex. The course has it’s share of difficult holes that can make for an interesting round. Obviously with the name, you can imagine quite a few holes playing around water hazards. Not too difficult of a course but the course conditions could be improved to aid that. Fairways and greens can sometimes feel like concrete even during the times of year you expect the grass to be nice and healthy and not dried out.
The staff is very friendly and helpful from the guys in the shop, to the starter, to the snack shop at the Turn/3rd hole. Never a bad experience there. There could be improvement with regulating pace of play. I’ve found too often during rounds that certain holes get stacked up quite a bit and for painfully too long - namely the tee box on the 5th hole, Par 4, and 6th hole, Par 4 (which essentially plays like a Par 3 with the way the hole is laid out and wait til the group in front of them is on the green before teeing off). Getting through the front 9 can be a bit painful because of this.
Overall though, Traditions is nice course to hone your game at. Challenging enough but not overly taxing to keep you going. Also, must again commend the staff for being very friendly and helpful. Things like that will definitely garner return customers.
Great Place
GREAT practice areas, short game, putting driving areas best in town,,,public anyway.
Course was in GOOD shape esp for mid July
Greens are fairly fast and true.
Beautiful course with lots of big old trees and PLENTY of water. Very fun and challenging layout.
Will definitely be adding this to the rotation!
Would have gone with great but:
1)the greens looked and rolled like they had been aerated about 3 or 4 weeks ago (in a week or so should be perfect)
2) The traps were wet and hard
3) a couple of fairway and dollar weed cropping up
GREAT CONDITIONS
Shot a 75 but could’ve been better had 6 birdie putts not lipped out!!! Fairways were in awesome condition. Thinking about going back today!
Always a solid round
I travel to the area from NYC about twice a year, and always play a round here. The staff is very friendly and good about getting you to start on time. I played here on 4th of July, and tee'd off at exactly my tee time.
You really can't beat the practice area - nice wide range and great areas for short game and putting. You won't regret arriving early, since you can use the facilities to warm up each part of your game.
Course layout is great, a couple of challenging holes, and you get chances to go over water and around trees.
Once or twice I've had a problem with pace of play
Nice shape
Not concerned about breaking my wrist when placing a tee :) ......greens were soft (one hop and stop) but one of the fastest greens and true (read vs actual) compared to 3 other rounds played over the last 7 days. Cart girl retires early and 10 tee box is not close to clubhouse; so plan before you go.
Course is in nice shape .... no mud and fairways are in nice shape AND greens too. Bunkers were maybe a little more moist than they should be but nice sand :) Lots of water (some you can't see). Teed off around 3:30 and done in less than 4 hours with no significant delays ... everyone was moving.
Definitely come back again and often
Watters Creek
The course is currently in good summer shape. A couple of the greens on the back had some dead spots, but nothing to ruin a round. They have possibly the best short game/practice facility in DFW.
Kept up well.
Great course. The greens were still growing out from being punched a few weeks ago but the whole course is well kept.
“Winner!”
Lots to love about this course. Shape is good. Driver used off of most tee boxes. Fairways were soft yet plenty of roll. Greenskeepers mowed and rolled then watered ahead of me so the putting surfaces were flawless. Pace of play was good. Staff let me play ahead of my tee time to beat the heat. There’s not many courses better than this one.
Great course in great shape.
First time playing this course and was pleasantly surprised. Fairway and greens in good shape although not a difficult course was challenging if you didn’t put the ball in the fairway.
Incredible experience
For a public course, this is an incredibly well kept track. Fairways, greens, just a great time. It goes a long way when you put money into a course. Awesome experience
Played on a golf now vip for free course was in excellent condition
Great value, awesome test
Green were recently aeroated so I will say greens are normally excellent. Course is challenging from the tips with a variety tee shots requiring a draw or fade, 3 and 4 irons instead of driver. Par 5's are very challenging to reach in two. Nice layout is my best compliment. Will play again for the price.
