The golf course at the Arrowhead Golf Club has been declared the top public course in Denver in the past by Golf Digest, as well as one of the top 75 public courses in the nation. The towering red sandstone rock formations are a trademark of the course, providing a unique and beautiful atmosphere, which is further enhanced by the abundant wildlife that have made the course their home. The rolling terrain provides elevation changes and undulation to the greens. Water hazards and bunkers also come into play on the course. Arrowhead Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole. It is a steep, downhill hole with scenic views.

Most beautiful, poorly managed course you'll ever play

Arrowhead has the most gorgeous scenery (seriously) that you will find on any course in Denver. It’s stunning. It continues to also be however the most grossly overpriced and poorly run course in Denver. Their tee-sheet is always overbooked. Whether its booking tee times starting at 5:30 when the sun doesn’t come up until 6:30 or cramming in midday tee times between morning and afternoon tournaments, the pace of play is always slow. I’ve walked off after a 4 hour 9 hole round on a Saturday. Adding to the disappointment are the facilities for the price. Again, with the rates they charge you would tend to expect more than hitting off of mats on an 180yd range. Tee boxes were shaggy, maintenance was just average. The staff is usually good to deal with. Just know what you are getting into and expensive, slow, round on an average greenery, with spectacular surroundings.

Great course

Really enjoyed the incredible scenery and cleverly designed holes. Several large bucks had to be navigated on a few holes, and we stood inches from them to get some picures. Well worth playing.

The most beautiful course in Colorado

The conditions were great. The views almost take your focus away from your game the place is so beautiful. I would play there a lot more often but it's expensive. Don't get me wrong it's worth the money, I just can only afford it when it's a hot deal. I will be looking more closely the rest of the year to see if I can do it again. Bring your camera, your iPhone wont do it justice.

Great views; conditions just so - so. But a must play once

Course has gone down hill over the past 2 yrs. It is not in bad shape, just not what it use to be. Still a bit pricey; suggest finding a good rate on golfnow.com. Views are great as the course meanders through steep vertical red rocks. A must play at least once. If you like to hit the 19th hole after your round; might suggest traveling to a local pub. Beer here is a bit pricey.

Solid course but pace of play needed attention

Played an early Sunday Morning round, we were the 3rd pairing of the day. Pace of play was terrible definitely needed a marshal. We waited 35 minutes one hole and 20 minutes another hole for the pairings in front of us to finish. Normally wouldn't be a issue but they were terribly slow and ruined the flow of the game. Course is always gorgeous and makes for a fun round.

Definitely a 'must play' in Colorado

Used a BOGO coupon to play this course with my wife on her birthday and we enjoyed it very much. The views were spectacular as we thought they'd be. We got on early and finished within four hours. Had nobody in front or behind the whole round. The wind was a significant issue on the front nine but a good trade off for no waiting. There were many opportunities for lost balls and I think I'd take a more conservative approach on many holes if I were to return (which I hope to). All in all a great experience at a 'must play' course in this area.

Stunning views!!

I currently live N. Illinois but grew up in Denver metro area. Never heard of the course until I was web surfing one day. This last visit home I went and played the course. Every par 3 as the most stunning set up. a couple of Par 4's have dog legs around gorgeous rock formations. I was surprised that the ball did not fly farther because of the elevation. Down in Arvada I could maintain around a 300yd average. Up there 270 was a good drive for me. Very challenging course. The greens were a little rough in some spots but I imagine its very difficult to keep them pristine because of the location. worth the money.

Pretty views and an interesting layout

This is a pretty course with some neat features. Irons only on the small driving range, and players must hit off of mats (ugh). The pace of play was really slow. We were behind a foursome that seemed to be playing a best ball or scramble and were still extremely slow. Zero marshall appearances all day.

The carts have a built in gps unit. Ours didn't work at all, the beer cart driver called in for us on hole 2, but no one came around. We changed it out at the turn. Overall a very average experience.

Spectacular scenery

Being an East Coast resident, the scenery made playing this course a wonderful experience. Between the elevation and the red rocks jutting up around the course I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to golf on vacation.

The greens are literally like a carpet.

The reason that I only gave this course three stars is because its a gimmick course with a bunch of beautiful scenery. I'm a bonified 10 handicap and I shot a 92. Don't laugh at the short distance because for a mountain course elevation does not matter. Windy cool conditions and every green is on a high rise. The greens won't hold, or check no matter how much spin you have on the ball. It might say 6300 but plays more like 7000 yds. I'm glad I played it, but I would never go back.

Great condition

This will always be one of my favorite Colorado courses. For the drought conditions that exist, the maintenance crew has obviously worked very hard to keep the course in great shape. I can't say pristine conditions because Mother Nature needs to help out there, but it is the best course I've played all year. The staff were very friendly from the bag drop to the cart girl. Thank you Arrowhead for making a wonderful experience as I prepare to leave the great state of Colorado!!!

Spectacular layout with awe inspiring views, but the course condition was underwhelming.

I have been wanting to play Arrowhead for the past 5 years, but typically opt for something closer and more reasonably priced since my schedule rarely allows me to reserve my rounds with much advanced notice. I finally decided to splurge and make the hour drive for a morning round on Father's day weekend. I must say that the course aesthetic delivered as promised with spectacular views and the antcipated elevation changes expected of a mountain course, but I was totally let down by the overall condition of the course--in particluar that of the greens. I was expecting pristine greens with a fast pace in mid to late June (prime season for course condition in Colorado), but instead played shaggy, slow greens that generally wouldn't allow a well struck putt to hold a line.

Having never played Arrwohead previously I can't say whether the course condition I experienced was typical or abhorrant, but unless I had it on good authority that the greens were in excellent condition I would not likely play this course again. I can think of a dozen options closer to home (Broomfield, CO) in better shape at 30-50% of the cost (Green Valley Ranch, Colorado National, The Omni, Legacy Ridge, Buffalo Run, Indian Peaks to name a few).

Beautiful landscape, but course is average

You will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful course from the landscape aspect. There are gorgeous views of the metro area that are framed in by the amazing rock formations. Some of the holes are breathtaking at first glance, however the turf itself is pretty chewed up. I found a lot of bad lies in the fairway. The staff was fair. There was a wedding at the time I went that closed the driving range. I was told to go hit balls, but then found the wedding. The staff also charged me a $25 rider fee for my girlfriend to ride with me.

Beautiful course with deceptively difficult greens

We had a great time, but did have to eat some humble pie in adding up our final scores. This was partially due to the massive obsticals nature has randomly placed throughout the course, but also due to 2-3 putting most of the greens. This course is very well maintained, and has a tremendous amount of natural beauty. We will definitely be back for additional rounds.(and hopefully score better next time)
