I am not sure how it has been possible to maintain such excellent greens during such dry conditions this summer. I really enjoyed my rounds and will be back soon.

The online details are different from the course and the form provided is incorrect also..

The course has had to change due to required works but the garmin details online has not been updated.

Also the paper work on 9 says the length but is incorrect so the changes are all correct.

Small greens, protected by bunkers and a smallish cut of rough, no 9th hole currently which I’m disappointed with. Good shape and perfect for mid to high handicaps.

Some tight fairways so left driver in bag half the time.

This was once a very nice course but it's not been kept up to scratch. The fairways were bumpy & concrete like (i get the weather hasn't helped). The tee boxes looked like cattle had been grazing on them, it was a struggle to find a level piece to set the tee up & the greens, although looking nice were very spongy & some had weeds growing on them.

Course was reasonably busy & at approx £140 for a 4ball, I don't think enough is being re-invested on the course.

The course if great but what let it down for me was the greens had been spoiled and sanded. I know this is essential maintenance but would have been nice to be told prior to our visit as this would have affected our decision to play on that day. Also the signage was really poor around the change to the layout it holes 8/9/10 not really clear and thought we had gone. Overall I love this course just disappoint we travelled that far fir the greens to be in that condition.

For this course to be good the greens need to be a lot better.

First time here, off mats,but it has been wet, not to much inconvenience mats in good nick. Fairways dry and generously wide, greens not so good very uneven and bumpy

Could do with better maintenance, but for the cost it is value for money, probably not a test for lower handicaps

Overall I will play again in the summer to see how it plays.

Fancied a game with mates and our home course was carry only so we played this instead.

Very muddy but it is the middle of winter, green were damaged but putted OK,

Interesting lay out.

All tees were mats which I will never understand (I play most of my golf in oregon usa and the winters are much worse and it rains much more and you will never see mats or temp greens)

Will try it again in the summer

A beautiful course with wide and often long fairways. Very enjoyable to play with enough hazards to make interesting.

Was a bit of a scramble at the start as there weee 3 bookings at my tee time but we worked it out

Planning to play there again very soon

Played on a midweek afternoon and enjoyed a round without a single holdup. The course has taken recent rain well and is well improved from visits last year. Greens are markedly better, work is being done on paths and saw far more staff working on the course. Please keep it up

Green were shocking, not receptive at all, multiple dirt patches and moss/weeds growing all over them having an effect of roll of putts. Balls would not stop as you'd expect Even the slightly chip would roll a mile (would like to see some work on making them receptive so approach shots and chips actually stop).

Tee boxes were 99% dirt/mud making it horrible for irons off the tees, were ok for using my driver on the par 5's. They were also very uneven.

Fairways were the only positive being in a decent condition.

Bunkers were full of debris, pebbles and large stones so took a drop instead of my little number of bunker shots, didn't want to destroy wedges (avoid unless you are happy to burn a hole in your wallet).

Round took just under 5 hours, pace of play was horrendous. Waited between 5-10 minutes for tee shots and approach shots. Several groups also didn't tee off at correct time messing up the whole schedule/flow of play.

Apart from this poor experience playing golf the staff were pleasent and friendly.

Would I play here again? Unlikely, unless the course is sorted to greens play better, bunkers are sorted and flow of play is how it should be (I expect a round to be around 4 hours at most).

A course that allows a three ball sharing a bag between them. I appreciate its a public course and golf ettiqutte is lacking but there is no need for unnecessary delays. The staff or the course marshall whizzing around in their buggy should have been aware but stull did nothing about it. Fairways were not maintained certain greens had huge puddles and tee boxes were hacked. Ball cleaning where available didnt even have water in them. Staff of this course are letting it down. Potential to be a lovely course but as highlighted lazy or lack of staff is casuing this to run down.

The course is on the whole benefitting from new green keeping staff with new equipment after years of poor maintennce. The greens are improving all the time. One bugbear for methough is that they have narrowed the fairways and have a wavy pattern along the edges. This may look pleasing on the eye but in practical terms over 90% of the time even if you hit the narrow fairway you are playing your second shot from the rough. Those who play here are not Pro's so why make it difficult like this?

Started off with quite a bit of rain but it soon cleared up and the course played well with the greens in great condition.

Good value and testing course

A little muddy in places and the fairways could do with a cut

I haven’t played for several years but will make a point of coming back in the summer

Firstly, the course is promoting booking through tee-off times/golf now yet when on arrival they have no record of your booking and someone else could have reserved the same time over the phone direct with the course. Then my playing partner who arrived separately from goes and pays for his round even though I have prepaid to tee-off times, It's a shambles.

So it's very cheap and very quiet. A lot of the bunkers are missing rakes and the absence of distance markers on a lot of the holes is annoying. Greens not great.

I've played it quite a few times and really want to like it but it's the worst condition I've seen it.

The course has suffered from the hot weather. It is recovering slowly , the greens are fine albeit a tad slow but that’s understandable they are protecting them . Tee boxes are not too bad , all in all it’s really good value for money and for a public course a fair test . All four of us who played ranging from 6 hcap to 28 will return .
