Drainage work and only 17 holes open
First hole was closed due to drainage work and this was evident on other holes where drainage channels go across the fairways and were not even fully filled with sand. We were not informed of this before booking which would have affected our decision to play considering the cost. Staff both on and off the course were pleasant but overall this was not a value for money booking
great course , well presented and in great condition . staff were friendly and clubhouse was excellent.
course played long with a lot of mid to long irons into greens , greens held very well and putted well .
there are a lot of holes with water across the fairways at about 200 yrds out (played of yellows) which made you think about laying up for a longer second shot or risk the carry with the driver ,
overall i thought this was a fantastic course and very easy to walk around
Enjoyable course
Warm welcome on arrival, Helpful staff, Good layout of the course and practice area and overall good value
Quality
Lovely friendly golf club, course in great condition will definitely be back.👍
Good condition
Played on a quiet midweek morning, everyone at club very friendly and helpful.
Course well maintained, particularly greens. Plenty of water/ditches to be conscious of. Plenty of challenges for any level of golfer.
Would visit again.
Gem
Lovely golf course fantastic condition, great facilities and fantastic service. we will be back.
Coteswold Gem
What a wonderful little gem great course, great facilties and very welcoming and friendly bar staff. Will definitely be going back very soon.
Great course and well looked after
This course is beautiful, a nice open course with lots of water hazards and bunkers. But
Great day spoilt by the weather
Welcome, changing facilities, clubhouse and staff were absolutely first class. Tee boxes and greens were in very good condition. 50% of the fairways were very sodden and/or covered with leaves. It was the first week of December when most other courses were restricted or closed so the conditions were expected. Will definitely be back once we have a dry spell.
Great course with great friendly Staff
The course was in great condition. The staff were lovely.
Only thing I would say is that it is quite expensive at £50 per person in October
Nice course, that needs some TLC
Having played Chipping Sodbury before I know its potential. However when we visited we found the greens to slow and full of divots. The grass on the tee boxes was longer than expected (had to change from Green to Red tees). The Layout is great. We had food afterwards and this was great and served in a friendly professional manner.
Great course, Rude staff.
Checked in for my Tee time at the office and the gentleman there was super rude and looked at me like an alien when I asked if he had any tees for sale..
Great course, deceptively long.
Booked this last minute as needed to find a course north of Bristol. Wasn’t sure what to expect and the drive up the lane to the club, the clubhouse and the pro shop are a little underwhelming. Staff are very friendly and courteous.
Once out on the course it was a good test for me (nine handicap) and it offered a good challenge. The course is deceptively long but isn’t too challenging so suits golfers of all levels although high handicap golfers may find the length a little intimidating.
The course is in great condition with both fairways and greens really well maintained. My only real criticism if anything is that the greens are on the small side.
If you play it for the first time you’ll definitely need a course planner or a good golf satnav otherwise you could be losing a few balls.
Definitely recommend it although it may never appear in your top 10 golf courses.
Great parkland course
Lovely course, great layout. Only had a few clubs in a pencil bag as on holiday but it didn't take too much away from the course not having a driver. Approaching was much easier from the fairways as rough was lush so accuracy was a better play, and there is some nice looking par 3's.Only disappointment, which I have at other courses, was range balls all up the left hand side of the 18th(which is a par 5 dog leg left). Pulled my second into the trees just off the fairway and as there where people hitting range balls at the time I didn't fancy trawling through the choice of balls to find mine. Minor thing and would look forward to playing the course again.
Baldies golf day
Stopped to play here and this was first visit
Amenities great and course nice and quite challenging
Very popular / pace of play quite slow but worth having a bit of patience .
Will come back again when I am next in the area maybe
Thanks
