Struggling for Kids entertainment
If like me, you are struggling to keep your kids entertained during the school holidays, why not go to Enfield golf club and watch them kill defenceless animals, what could be better during fox mating season than watching posh people shoot foxes for no reason other than they get off on it, want to see the sheer joy on your little ones faces as some hoorah Henry blasts a mother foxes head apart, leaving her newborn cubs to starve to death in agony, just because you can!.
Five stars for prioritising the swing over the ecosystem!
Absolutely thrilled to hear that Enfield Golf Club has taken it upon themselves to manage the local wildlife — who needs adorable fox cubs frolicking about when you could have a perfectly sterile stretch of grass instead? The commitment to maintaining the golf course as a lifeless, soulless landscape is truly admirable. Not every club goes the extra mile to make sure nature knows it isn't welcome. Five stars for prioritising the swing over the ecosystem! Can't wait to see what other baby animals they'll "manage" next. Bravo.
Very disappointing
I was lead to believe that this was a friendly place, but that is misleading. It has been used for networking meetings, but never again! I was horrified that not only did they mark out the dens of foxes and hire people to shot the foxes and the cubs (it is breeding season), but they then denied that they had done so. Apparently some golfers had complained that foxes had nibbled their golf bags. Hardly cause for killing the foxes. What a waste of green space — would be so much better to turn it into a nature reserve.
I’ve had a go at putting, but I would not come here to do so.
Illegal Fox Cull
Absolutely disgraceful that this club have culled 15 dens worth of foxes, pregnant vixens and cubs despite being offered help from various rescue centres. They refused entry to all rescue centres and only allowed entry after 2 days. All 15 dens were found empty. They have released a very weak statement which has been rejected ted by the entire community.
Vile management
Run by a bunch of unfeeling heartless me (and I use the term loosely) They decided to wipe out a whole colony of foxes and their cubs because one golfer saw a hungry fox looking for food in his bag.. Shame on them!!
It’s a yes from me
Fantastic course which offers a bit of everything. Long par 5s, tough par 4s, beautiful par 3s. A lot more interesting than North Mid and Hendon for sure.
Look forward to returning
We played this course on a day that had beaten down with rain and sleet and although understandably wet under foot in places, you could really see the quality in the course. There were new bunkers in the making which will further improve the enjoyment and difficulty of the course. I look forward to seeing the course in the spring and a must visit. Clubhouse was smart and clean, with a great menu and very friendly staff. It boasts a balcony overlooking the course so all in all, a win
Great Course
Very challenging course for a high handicapper like myself, but given I played in November the course was absolutely immaculate - tees and greens were in perfect condition. The rough is quite long and with the leaves I lost a lot of balls, but unlike me if you can just hit the fairway that won’t be a problem! Staff were really friendly too, would highly recommend.
First time played
Played Enfield golf course with a friend , nicely laid out course but 40% of it was muddy & very wet , there was a couple of temporary greens as the green side bunkers were being re modelled, greens & tees were very good , but in between in my opinion was just too heavy , very hard going , having played other courses recently this one was the worst I have played , but I am sure come the spring it will be much improved , I shall return then , the clubhouse is very nice & all the staff including the green keepers & playing staff were very friendly & welcoming
Excellent experience
Friendly and accommodating welcome from Martin in the Pro Shop. A good test for golfers of all abilities. Fairways in good condition considering the time of year. Greens fast, fair and true. Excellent value for money and will definitely be back 👍
Unfortunately experience was not good this time
Normally I love Enfield golf course but today was an exception to the rule. The round was painfully slow behind a junior competition that just took far too long on each hole and held up the whole course behind them. It would have been nice if the pro shop staff had allowed us to start off the 10th tee which they quite easily could have done, then this would have made the whole experience for us more tolerable. The course itself was really really boggy and while this is understandable considering the amount of rain we have had recently it did make it an unpleasant walk in all honesty. It’s probably going to only get worse as well during the winter months making me believe it’s just not going to be worth playing there again this side of the year. The course is probably more of a fair weather course due to the claggy clay soil it is built on. Greens however were fantastic as they always are, so can’t argue about those! We were on time for our tee but when we got there it was already backed up and we had a single ball who had been allowed on our tee time. When I challenged the pro shop they made an excuse that the rain had caused the delay. Not sure if this was true or not but it really didn’t help as we had to follow this guy who was playing 2 and sometimes 3 balls on every hole including on the putting green simply because he felt he had nowhere to go in front of him. I ended up having an argument about this as it really is bad etiquette to do this and was just plain frustrating having to wait and watch him do this on every single hole. He should really have been pressing to get through the groups in front rather than making us wait forever while he played 3 rounds of golf for the price of 1! Suffice to say won’t be returning again until summer 2025 I don’t think when the course will no doubt be back to its normal brilliant self again !
Superb well established Golf course
Had a great round at this well established golf course. Great course layout, superb greens, well looked after fairways and tee boxes. Although course is short in length, it makes it up with well positioned hazards, bunkers and rough. Highly recommend this course, and will visit again soon.
Friendly, great quality golf
Enfield is a cracking course - the greens are fast, the fairways well kept and very picturesque holes. The pro in the pro shop was very friendly and welcoming and told us all we needed to know. The practice area (chipping and putting greens and nets) were an added bonus before the round. Would recommend this club and I’m already looking forward to coming back.
Great Course & Staff
Took my Dad here to play and we both had a great time. Would definitely recommend playing here.
Enfield’s Hidden gem
A great all round experience, in good condition, a testing course. With some tough greens
Stunning course
Played for first time...pro shop moved my tee time to avoid me getting stuck behind a batch of 4 balls
Course was immauculate great mixture of holes. Gettable par 5s but with hazzards placed well to tempting you into going for it or make you think about laying up
Clubhouse just refurbished
£40 a round is top of my budget for a 1 ball round, but worrh every penny....and now considering membership
One of the best in North London. Superb layout
One of the best days of golfing for my father and me at Enfield club. The layout and condition of course is simply brilliant. Club house has a very modern and new feel, restaurant is excellent.
Our only gripe is that a 6pm tee off time meant we couldn’t rent a buggy or motorized cart as the tee shop closes and they have to lock them up after the round. But they had basic carts and we managed just fine.
