Sammons Golf Course

I have played many courses over my 40 years and I have never encountered a golf course with the noise level as this one it is next to a freeway and even closer railroad tracks. If you’re looking for a relaxing experience this is not the place to go.

I would not recommend this course. They made me pay twice and this course was not worth that much money.

Overall a good day to be on the course. With cooler weather, needed to club up. Invited new guest to play. Noted poor signage and rough cart paths. Otherwise a good golfing experience for winter golf.

The course food was good and the course was even better with the difficulty with the water and nice layout.

Had a mid morning tee time, but guests unable to play. Got grouped with 3 others including a father and 6-yr-old son who was “just learning” the game. Starter suggested picking up ball, as needed, to maintain pace. That didn’t happen. Hard to hit a drive, then wait 6 shots for kid to “catch up”, then hit and wait…hit and wait. Thank goodness they opted out after 9! To be fair, driving range was closed that day, but the course is not a substitute.

Good for a city course. Very convenient. Playing was slow due to a good day after almost a week of rain. Cart path only day but overall good. Cart paths still need a lot of work and carts were less than good. No tablets for the carts and kept score on paper. Driving range was not opened but the chipping/putting green was. Ate at the club house and had some really good burgers. Could've used the beverage cart on a few holes but overall, a fun day.

Very disappointed at Sammons. When we showed up for our Tee time we had to wait 45 minutes because “they have no cart keys”. The staff treated us fairly poorly and seemed upset that we were there on time, did not offer any range balls or discount despite having to wait an extra 45 minutes. Due to this delay we started closer to 3 PM and couldn’t even play the full 18 holes. Course was very rough and didn’t seem taken care of, will not be returning.

The course is okay. Over the past few years, the maintenance and grounds keeping has diminished. The cart path needs a major upgrade as well as the quality of carts. The tablet had to reset on almost every hole and was extremely slow. The driving range was closed for seeding. All in all, it's a place to play golf. A little pricey for quality of course and amenities.

Played in the afternoon before the school golfers. A good pace, though a foursome behind us hit into us one time too many! I let them know it too. There was no way to pick up pace and we were 1/2 hr AHEAD of time. Maybe a course marshall could help. Greens in great condition. Fairways good too. A few bunkers had sitting water and several could have used a good raking. Otherwise a very good day on the course at Sammons.

Played on a very windy day and enjoyed the challenge! Made the water holes even more difficult. Greens in good shape. Some rough (rocky, sandy or dry) areas beside fairways, but fairways in good condition. Trees also make course challenging. Carts are set to shut off in some areas, so pay attention. GPS on carts helpful. Take extra golf balls when playing this course! 😉
