Sammons Golf Course

One thing that would be pretty easy and low cost but provide a massive improvement is to improve the tee box markers. I’ve only played here twice and it’s very confusing and easy to get lost and many of the tee box markers have paint that has warn away so you often cannot tell which tee box it is. It feels like they assume everyone that plays there is a regular.

The course conditions were less than desirable as had a lot of difficult lies on hard dirt with no grass...even in fairways.

Also, i will not play this course again due to the golf cart situation of cutting off and us having to push it. Even while on the cart path next to the green. It seemed to be way out of calibration to the actual course.

This has been going on for a long time. I wish the carts gave you some warning before just dying on the side of a hill. But this cart was the worst one yet.

I am done with this course.

We played on a day that was still foggy at noon. Course was in good shape. Since we were playing the course for the first time, it would have been nice to have more signage to show which way you were going. Thank good for there GPS on the carts

Heard such rave reviews of the course from several. Bit after play g very disappointed. Course layout was confusing and it wasn’t in good shape.

They seem to cram people back to back so play was brutally slow.

They need to mark course with directions. Thankfully I was paired with someone who knew the course.

This was my first time playing Sammons, and I was not impressed. It’s a fun course and I like the layout. It was generally well-kept, and had some fun holes. That being said, the scheduling was way too close together. When we arrived on time, we has to wait behind two parties at the first tee box. We were a party of two, and there were two single players booked after us, and we ended up joining to be a 4-some, and there were still people rushing us from behind. I felt like I had no time to look for my balls, even when they were in the fairway or only barely out of bounds, and ended up dropping a new ball on several holes. I’m not an expert golfer, but I’m not slow either; I have played many courses before, but I have never felt so rushed as I did at Sammons. Also, the tee off areas were super poorly marked. If it weren’t for the guy who joined our party and knew the course, we would have been completely lost.

I thought I'd be able to play a quick 18 holes since it was a Tuesday but I later found out that Tuesdays and Thursdays are slotted for senior tournaments. Other than the slow play and maintenance guys working directly in front of a tee box, it was a good outing.

Sammons is a nice layout with a variety of holes ranging from wide-open links style to tight, wood lined fairways. Water can come into play on 14 holes with streams and a large lake . Wind is usually a major factor on the front nine. Course conditions seem to improve steadily over the past several years as the new greens grass matures. Hopefully it will escape the damages from another Snowmageddon like 2021. The staff is friendly and work hard to make sure you enjoy your time.

I enjoyed the course alot. Nice staff and its in good condition. Very simple fun golf experience.
