Sammons Golf Course

In the past I avoided this course, but they replaced the greens and that drastically improved the experience. Staff was great. Still a few holes with drainage issues, number 18 was really wet. Good value for the cost.

Like the new layout. New greens look great, the rest of the course is currently being worked on or is in need of a good clean up. Pace of play wasn’t bad on the first 9 but really slowed down on the back. Good course for the money, would just like to see it cleaned up a bit.

Drove 35 miles to course to play with my son.

When we check in they told us that all the green were temporary. Golf course nor golf now told us this the day we book tee time.

Green will not be ready until October 2018.

The course is a cool layout in the middle of Temple. The greens were recently maintained and all turned brown. They were ok to play on but cosmetically they were bad.

They did let us play for roughly half price, so they did recognize the issue.

I would play there again!

I live in the area and have played many times. It can be fun, but greens are horrible. Course is not well maintained. Evidently they are putting money into it now, I usually walk but did notice new golf carts. The course is being redone in May 2018 I think, and it drastically needs it. It will be interesting to see how it comes out. I can't see this course surviving without improvements.

Fun challenging course with water present on 16 holes. A short course by modern standards but accuracy is still a premium.Most greens are in bad shape.A value non the less.

Course needs work on the tee boxes and greens. Terrible condition. Check in was great and attendant was in good attitude. Problem with the course was they had a lot of folks playing with groups of five, which slowed down play. Not good on a weekend. So as I went around, since they would not let me play through, one player who identified himself as an employee, told me that I could not go around him and had to stay in my spot and seemed pretty offended as I did, based on his language. Oh well--will not play there again.

Fun course to play. The fairways and greens were in good shape with some repairs to the greens, but nothing to interfere with your putting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. As it was my first time playing this course, I was a little confused with the layout, bridges, tunnel, dam and 14 holes with water. What more could you ask for. Beautiful and fun.

I play here weekly and although the course is not the best it offers a great value, a variety of holes and a relaxing time.

My wife and I are visiting Texas and played here today. We play many, many courses during the year and I can easily say these were the worst greens we have seen all year. Layout is nice and lots of water but too bad the greens are shot.

Overall course conditions are good but the greens are not very good. The grass is dead on about 20 percent of every green except one.
