About
Joe Finger laid the Bayou out in the 1970s. The links-style course he carved out of the 200 acres along Moses Bayou has plenty of water and elevated tees and greens. The Galveston Bay winds affect this open course, so the 6,665-yard, par 72 plays significantly longer. Every par 5 is over 500 yards, and four of the par 4s are over 400 yards.
On the front, the long par 4 No. 6 is tough because the approach must carry the bayou to a tiny green. And No. 10 involves a lake off the tee and on the approach.
The back is what really tears into the soul of a golfer, though, presenting a 580-yard double dogleg on No. 15 followed just a short while later by the ridiculous 475-yard par 4 17th. This hole is lined on the left by old Moses, and water hazards creep into the fairway. The inevitably long approach goes into an elevated green guarded by water.
Getting there : From Hwy. 146 south, turn right on Loop 197, and head over to Ted Dudley Dr. Turn right, and the course is on the right side of the street.

Enjoyed
Tee to green will challenge you for sure. As with all courses in the area, some rain is needed ()cracks in fairway. Green were fair as far as pin placement and contours with a fast roll. Nice round
The greens are way too fast
All of the greens are too fast and the hole is always placed on a slope , near impossible to one putt

Poor condition
I dont know if the course is always like this, but the only good part was that the greens were in decent shape. The tee boxes were so hard you couldn’t get a tee in half of them. The huge bare spots were impossible to hit off of, unless you like hitting off concrete. It was very disappointing.

Fun coirse
Front 9 was very wet in some spots from the tidal surge. The green room very fast and smooth but they are very hard. The ball does not check very well. Fairways are thin.

Lots of water
Water is not my friend. The course is in a beautiful location. The back 9 was closed because they are working on it. The front 9 had alot of water with some sand traps. The putting greens are nice.

Bayou review
Front nine is in rough condition. Mud in fairways, greens in 6 out of 10 shape. It got better on back nine. A decent course, but with it’s close proximity to salt water, it tough to keep in good condition. Won’t be on my list of courses to play.

Disappointed
I was looking forward to playing the 18 hole course but was informed when I arrived that only the front nine was open and I could only play that when I payed for 18 holes not nine holes.

Terrible fairways
Every fairway on the front 9 that is along the water is unplayable because they are 75% mud. I didn't get a chance to play the back 9 as it was closed for repairs. I do have to say all the greens were in good shape and were pretty quick.
Overall, worth the Hot Deal price I paid.

The course was in very bad shape. Lots of patches with no grass.

Great course for the price
20 dollars. You get what you pay for. I like it. Back 9 is in better condition than the front. Fun course. I will be back

Stolen watch
New management is pompous. And lazy. Fix your greens and get rid of the sticky fingered cart guys before acting like the pga.
Watch was left in cart at time of closing was the only group left besides the employee left. I called in the morning to ask about my watch that i knew was in the cup holder only to be told they did not have it and refused to do double check with cart attendant. Then proceeded to block my number. You are crooked rats.
