Waxahachie Golf Club
About
The Waxahachie Golf Club plays to a par 70, 6,156 yards from the tips, and is famous for its blind doglegs and hilly terrain. The design incorporates a good combination of golf holes, both long and short par 4s, and especially the solid par 5s that all play over 500 yards from the tips. The opening hole is one of the easiest–a short par 3 that is one of the better ways to start a round. But the next hole is the number one handicap, a 513-yard par 5.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take the Business 287 exit and turn left. Drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Waxahachie golf course
The greens are absolutely terrible and have been for a very long time now. Cart girl service was poor as well
Goat Track
Don't bother this place is a goat track!!! You'd be better off playing at your granddaddy's farm. Fairways are as hard as asphalt. Front nine all temporary greens. Back nine 2-3 holes with temporary greens. The regular greens appear as if they don't care about them. Weed infested and trashy. This course is awful, don't waste a dime out there!!!!!
Needs some work
GM is very good. Staff in pro shop (young) needs work.
Course needs a lot of work. Several temp greens which aren’t terrible. Fun layout.
Backyard golf
The course did not have any greens! It was like playing in someone's backyard. Most holes had flags literally in the fairway! Biggest waste of time and money.
Terrible Maintenance!
Tee box is terrible, fairway is worse and there’s no green!
We wanted to leave after few holes, but thought we’d just use the time to practice. Ugh
Do not waste your time here!
Great Course Average Greens
Overall was a great course to play on, but most of the greens were terrible and they even had a couple temporary greens that had to put up because some of the greens were in such bad shape. Great to play up until you hit the greens, after that you’ll just be frustrated with rat poop covering the hole green and having to clear a way just to put, or the greens having so many divots of dirt you can’t get a good read on a line.
Terrible course
This course used to be good, but they claim due to the freeze a year ago it’s ruined the course and are working to get back to normal. If you wanna play a decent round of golf go anywhere else. Hope this course can come back to normal
Former member (30 yrs ago)
I have played this course hit and miss since I cancelled my membership about 25 years ago. It was still a nice club (private back then). Played it a couple of years ago and it wasn’t as good as I remember, but I still saw some old faces out there. Went this last SUNDAY, again SUNDAY. Got there around noon. The grill was already closed, at NOON ON SUNDAY. My son and I walked up to o the 18th green, and decided to make other plans. I’m actually so saddened and upset at the same time, I’m considering buying it, unless Chance B. beats me too it. It’s salvageable but, it’ll be at a salvage price.
Bad Shape
Sad to see. Played here about a year ago and it was starting to shape up into a nice little course. Very pretty property, and the course layout is interesting. It is tight. However the conditions make it unplayable. Stopped keeping score after the second hole. Wasn’t worth it. Temporary Greens means they put a flag stick in the fairway. Stay away for now. Hopefully they get it going again. Not a lot of courses in the area.
Poor Experience
For the low price of $33, you can barely play this course. Greens are 50% sand, 50% crab grass. The back 9 is the only saving grace as the greens got mildly better. Unfortunate for this course as it looks like it was once a great course and clubhouse, but has gone to trash. Don’t play this course, unless you plan on not caring about the game.
Wow
It is a great lay out of course, the fairways are halfway okay. But the greens are horrible they need help they need fertilizer they need chemicals. Hire me at 35 bucks an hour I will come and take this place over and make it a world class facility.
Cheaper than a bucket of balls
If you're wanting to practice a couple shots and don't want to go to the driving range then come play at Waxahachie. If you want a good golf course then go anywhere else. No Marshall here to keep things moving in a timely manner. The regulars just walk up to the #1 tee box and skip people because they feel entitled. Multiple groups of high-school students walking the course and playing whenever and wherever they feel like. Unfortunate that Waxahachie residents have to drive to Mansfield to play golf. Smh
Tiger woods would be ashamed to call this a golf course
