Tangle Ridge Golf Club

Excellent layout and in great shape, only drawback is very slow greens and they were bumpy as well.

My wife and I had a tee time for 10:20. Two guys were checking in in front of us and we overheard them say their time wasn't until 11something. We checked in, got our cart, and got to the first tee right at 10:20 only to find six (yes, six) carts in front of us, including those two guys. When I asked the starter what the hold up was he told us "those (12) guys are here every Friday". I asked could we play through? What's their tee time? He just said, "they're regulars" and one of the guys gave us a smirk and said "we're playing a scramble". I asked if we could play the back 9 first and he told us yes but when we went over to the 10th tee we were told to go back. So we had to sit there and wait for a dozen regulars who had a later tee time. We finally were able to tee off at 11:05. What's the point in reserving a tee time??

Greens were horrible. Bumpy and dead in many places. Have never experienced this issue at Tamgle Ridge. Rest of course in typical great shape. Might be awhile before we come back.

Fun course in good condition, except for the greens which probably need another few weeks to heal from being punched. I was surprised the were still so bad after being aerated in early May. Pace was poor, played as a 4some in 4:30 on a Wednesday morning.

Would have been 5 stars with an open driving range, but the layout is great with a mix of creativity, length, and challenge. Greens under aeration but rolled fine and the undulations really were challenging. Fairways were great and so was the rough.

Will definitely be back but the drive is substantial from Far North Dallas.

Tee boxes and Fairways were in really good condition. Greens…not so much. There are about 13/18 that need help. But other than that, the course was good.

Course was in good shape other than the greens recently being punched and sanded. Pace was slow, the course needs active marshalls to push the slow players along. I grew a full beard on the back nine waiting on a twosome tin front of me to figure out which end of the club to use to hit the ball...brutal.

Greens are horrible. Loved this course for many years and have never seen it this bad.

I enjoyed this course. I got a great price due to the greens maintenance. Full of sand but that's ok. Fairways had great quality. Not sure why it's so hard to have a flat tee box. Definitely going back.
