Waxahachie Golf Club

Overall a great course. Its in pretty good shape except for a couple greens that need to be touched up due to dead grass exposing sand.

If you are a beginner this course will be very challenging due to the elevated greens that are fast so missing chips and or putts will give you 3 - 4 putts per green.

First time playing this golf course, likely the last. Prepaid, arrived at my tee time, am told I will have to wait for a golf cart. No apology, no comps, no offer of discounts. They're almost out of beer and didn't even have the materials on hand for a grilled cheese sandwich. 45 minutes after my tee time, I get my golf cart and begin to play. I find a beautiful, well designed course that's in need of some basic upkeep. Greens are bumpy, tee boxes and fairways are rock hard. Pace of play is bad due to what appears to be overbooking. There was a group of 7 in front of me with some walking due to the lack of carts. Sad, because this course has the potential to be one of the best in DFW, but as far as first impressions go, they couldn't have done a worse job.

We were hesitant to come here and play due to reviews but this course was a true Diamond in the rough. You can see the effort in trying to make the greens better and fairways but absolutely a playable course. It is family friendly and still has a decent difficulty. The staff were absolutely engaged and staying envolved to make out experience wonderful. For the price per round this is a steal. Can’t wait to see what everything looks like in May.

Nice layout, fairways are trying to come in but the greens need help. I believe the staff is trying to move the course in a positive direction.

I have seen the negative reviews about this course so I decided to see for myself. The staff was very friendly. The course layout is good with a few challenging holes. The fairways are starting to shape and some of the greens are in need of de-weeding.

Overall, I enjoyed playing here and I do see the potential. I believe the staff will have this course going soon!

Course was decent at best…greens need much work. Fairway was full of weeds. Nothing was smooth except the tees. I’m new to golf but I’ve been to much better courses for cheaper.

Fairways are green up. Nice course to have a fun round without people being on top of you. Greens needed some work.

The greens are in horrible shape and some of the them are not playable. The fairways have little to no grass but lots of weeds. The layout is fun and the staff is always super nice. I’m hoping that with spring around the corner, the greens will come along.

Very friendly staff. Course in very bad shape. If you find a deal, go ahead & play. If you pay more than $25-$30, you will be disappointed.

I took my 12 year old son for his first round of golf. This may not have been the most pristine course I have ever played, but the people were SO friendly and really made my son feel welcomed. They were very accommodating and helpful. This is a great course for new golfers to get out and experience the game without feeling a lot of unnecessary pressure and without spending a ton of money. We had a blast and can't wait to go back.

I’ve golfed at Waxahachie for decades it seems and they are finally trying to make improvements to the course. I could tell they’re trying to make the greens better. In the winter months it’s overall a good course for the price. As of today I would go out there to practice my tee shots and approach shots. The greens are going to take some time to improve, hopefully by spring the greens will be nice.
