Waxahachie Golf Club
About
The Waxahachie Golf Club plays to a par 70, 6,156 yards from the tips, and is famous for its blind doglegs and hilly terrain. The design incorporates a good combination of golf holes, both long and short par 4s, and especially the solid par 5s that all play over 500 yards from the tips. The opening hole is one of the easiest–a short par 3 that is one of the better ways to start a round. But the next hole is the number one handicap, a 513-yard par 5.
Getting there : From I-35 south, take the Business 287 exit and turn left. Drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Terrible
I read some bad reviews but I also read others saying 'they're working on it'. I can tell you that wasn't the case when I went. Greens were terrible, course was unkept.
Great Course for New Golfers
The greens aren’t perfect, but it is beautiful little golf course and the staff could not be nicer. My son and I love playing here. It is a great value for the price.
Better every week
I went to this course for the first time a month ago and I’ve been back every week since. I live in Mansfield but Mansfield National can get pretty pricey so I search for golfing deals so I can get out more often. I decided to try out Waxahachie and am so glad that I did. I was surprised at what great layouts Waxahachie had. The greens weren’t in the best shape, but have gotten better every week. I’ve never met staff who are as friendly before. The difficulty level is perfect. There are some wide fairways which are forgiving, but elevated greens which are not. I plan on continuing to golf here often.
It’s coming around
First time on the course the greens were un-puttable. Second time on the course I could tell they were fixing greens. Today, pleasantly surprised that most greens were looking good. The course is headed in the right direction. I will continue to support the local course with the progress I’ve seen over 5 months.
Needs work
Most of the front nine greens need to be smoothed out and grass planted. Course needs work forsure and they are trying. Very friendly people and the breakfast was awesome. We played for about $10 each from hot deal
It's coming back!
Been here many of times in the past! The course layout is pretty cool around the lake. The fairways are just ok and greens are pretty patchy still. BUT! The staff are very friendly and you can tell they are trying their best to bring the course back to the good old days!
If you just want to play the game you can still have a good time. While supporting the course while they renovate!
Friendly staff
I really liked how friendly the staff was. The course could use some updating but I will definitely be back.
High/mid handicap paradise
This course is on the up! Great course for a nice day outside enjoying a round of golf. Greens just need some TLC and then easily beat course this south of Dallas.
Work in progress
The course isn’t great at the moment but for a $10 hot deal it’s worth it. I believe they’re under new ownership and they’re trying their best to salvage what they bought. Greens are the low point of the course but they’re slowly coming back to life. Perfect course to work on your game not ideal for a competitive round due to the lack of good rolling greens. I look forward to see what the course will become over the coming years but I’ll continue to play
