Country View Golf Club
About
Ron Garl came to Lancaster, Texas in 1989 to build Country View G.C., a truly unique course. No. 7 is the most difficult hole -- a long dogleg right with water in play off the tee and in the fairway. Also, get ready for no. 15, a unique par 3 that features a green completely surrounded by huge trees. Most of Country View's tee boxes are elevated and there is water in on over half of the holes.

Nice place
Played here many times over the last 10 years and twice since getting back into golf. Staff is excellent. Course is in decent condition considering the weather in this area. Tee boxes were a little dry but that’s probably my only complaint.
The Hidden Jewel of Lancaster, Texas
Have lived in North Texas since 1980 and have played several public courses. I came across this golf course by accident through GOLFPASS. I believe it is one of the well-kept secrets among DFW suburban municipal golf courses. A challenging layout with an elevated green complex, tight/tree-lined/ undulating fairways on several holes, and water hazards on most holes. Club selection was important on several holes. Greens were in immaculate condition and rolled true. I might note that the course did not test my errant bunker shot skills, since there were no bunkers to contend with. Staff was friendly, and the offerings in the restaurant were delectable. Will graze that pasture a lot in the future. Have made several of my golf buddies aware of this hidden pasture.

Nice Municipal Course
Pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Facility was dedicated in 1989 so it did show some signs of age. Otherwise the grounds were clean and as good a shape as could be expected with the amount of heat that DFW has been experiencing. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I plan on making this one of my go to courses.
Just Okay
The course was challenging with elevated greens, elevated tee boxes, and lots of blind corners. Greens were VERY fast.
The golf cart was absolutely horrendous and felt like we were about to lose a wheel at any moment and it kept jerking to the right.
The course is confusing in terms of being able to find the next hole if you’ve never been there. Luckily we played with a regular who knew the course really well.
Not worth returning!
First time playing this course. Comparing to every course played before, it is last on my list. Course has a ton of potential to be a great course, however seems to be the least of their worries. Carts may be on the verge of having a wheel fall off and the amenities are very minimal. Pace of play is okay, if you are on the first tee times. The layout is probably a work in progress, but without the progress part. Would not recommend and most likely my first and last time playing there.
Great course for the money
Fairways and greens were in great condition. The first tee box is a kind of over grown but for 23 dollars this course is hard to beat. Super cool course layout as well!
Substandard Course
Course was not taken care of, golf carts are about to die on you or a tire might go flying off any moment, and way over priced for the type of course.
Decent value for $
The course was unique layout for good shot making. Sat morning and several groups trying to playing 5-6 and sharing clubs that the marshal never really handled made for very slow play
Good bang for your buck
Really enjoyed the layout of the course. Looks like they recently aerated the greens but they they still rolled pretty good. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely be returning.
Boomers
The olds really have a strangle hold here. If you catch up to them… you’re gonna be a while
Nice course - elevated greens - shorter
Good course to challenge your short game while not being hit hard by excessively long drive requirements.
Not worth the cost
Everyone was nice and cool and it had rained the week before but I could’ve picked 10 courses that were not as expensive but much better than this one, left up signs from old tournaments, no sand at all, not griping but you just see ditches where traps were, my brothers and dad were not too happy I picked that course but I remember it being much better hopefully with the money they are charging they can make it better.
