Good for your ego.
Rather flat, water is rarely a concern, few blind shots, but busy, boy is it busy. No ball washing. I didn't lose my ball, and I don't hit it straight. But, yes, I accurately recorded by score :)
Fun Risk/Reward Layout
We played the lakes course, which features more water than the woods course. The back nine makes for a fun round with a layout that offers a lot of risk vs reward style shots. If you can find the fairways with the driver, you should have plenty of birdie opportunities. And when the driver isn't working, you can be more cautious with woods and irons off the tee and still have ample chances to score and post a good score.
Our group will be back again soon
Overcrowded but nice
We got stuck behind a group that was stuck behind another ground. This created 3 groups waiting on the same hole. This happened for all 18 holes. Making 18 holes take 5 hours for 2 people.
Rude starters and dead grass
Over all round wasn’t terrible but the starter was just such a d-bag even when we made the turn the man was just upset with his life. Then every tee box was dead and full of massive cuts out the grass then thinking you’d end up in the fairway nope just more dead grass hit into the ruff goodbye golf ball with all the leaves and sticks and dead grass clumps everywhere no way you’d find your ball the layout of the course can be good if someone cared for it.
RIP off
Not worth the money.
Found a hot deal on this course, figured we'd give it a try. When we arrived we were told the cart wasn't included and that it shouldn't have been listed as such on Golfnow. Ended up paying $28 for a cart. This left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the round.
After our round I went in to ask for my cart to be refunded.
The young kid behind the counter did nothing, but magically knew we'd have our money back in 14 days.
At this point I asked him if he'd like some basic information such as my name, phone number, anything really. It's been almost 3 weeks and still no refund.
Great public course - speedy greens
First time playing at Mallard Creek. Loved playing “The Lakes” course (holes 19-36). Had plenty of open fairways, but not without challenges. Bring a few extra balls if your tee shots tend to go swimming like mine do. Hit a bit of a log jam on the back nine as a couple groups in front of us spent five minutes looking for every ball. Group behind us was nice about it, though. Greens were some of the best I’ve seen near Cleveland as far as public courses go—I just wish people would learn to fix their ball marks! Would definitely play here again.
