Mallard Creek Golf Club - The Lakes Course

Course was hard as a rock. No difference between fairways and rough. I know they always get a ton of play here but even on a hot deal this was not worth the money and a shadow of what this course was ten years ago.

Nice course- well taken care of. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beer girls came around three times during our round - much appreciated. This was our Fourth time playing the course - We'll be back.

Fairways play like concrete and your ball will roll an extra 100 + yds. You might need to bring a hammer to set a tee on most holes.

Overall the course was ok. Not very long and the fairways weren’t much different than the rough. Greens were slow as the aeriation was still taking effect. $40 for 18 was a bit much given the conditions and challenge for this course. $25 seems more appropriate

My friend and I went there today Monday Memorial Day and it hasn't rained since Friday mind you. The grass was 4 inches high right off the faiways and even higher in some places. Literally if you didn't hit the fairways your ball was lost. I was embarrassed taking my friend there. Nothing was mowed, the golfers behind us told us that you were allowed to drive anywhere with the carts on Sunday (yesterday)but today was 90 degree only..... WHAT???? It was miserable. We put up low numbers, but the upkeep was horrible.

Overall, a fair course for public play. It’s flat, but still makes you think as you navigate some turns and plentiful water hazards. Kudos to the greens crew: early May golf with plenty of rain in the past weeks, and the greens were moving nicely

Most friendly place to play. First FMG management offers 2 year membership @ $399. Each round is then $14 for 18 holes including cart. No black-out days at all, but should make reservation, because course has many leagues and outings. Can buy “cart cards” which reduces fee to $10 per round including cart. This deal extends to 3 other local courses for total of 90 holes. Lakes has no traps but plenty of streams, lakes and trees to keep you honest. Possible to get a round in at 2 & 1/2 hours. Very popular setting, extremely friendly staff. Like owning your own course, but better!

Some of the greens arent in the best of shape, one green had deep tractor tracks running through the middle all the way down to the mud...

Grass was cut and trees trimmed up nicely, not too challenging, great warm up course...

I've played Mallard a lot over the last 5 years. While I prefer to play the first 18, I was sent out on the Lakes side for my round. The course has finally dried out but it is beat up. Tee boxes are hard and half dirt and the greens are pocked with ball marks. Fairways are at least good but the course was no fun to play at all.

Never understood how tee boxes could get so bad from driver use ....

Even before I had a membership, Mallard was always my go to course. With the 36 holes, helpful and down to earth staff, and a good mix of challenging and reasonable holes, big driving range, good hot dogs and big beers, it's always a fun place to go for a round.

Heading next door to Bootleggers before or after the round is never a bad thing, either.

I found the staff friendly, a free course guide on how to play each hole, very playable 28-36 (I could only fit in 9 holes plus it very wet). I’d play here again in a minute.
