ignorant to the pandemic
Horrible experience all around! The course itself needs a lot of work, and is currently on the verge of unplayable. Bunkers are rock solid, rough is overgrown and fairways are in horrible shape. One hole had 30 yards of mud with scattered grass leading up to the green where the fairway should’ve been.
I booked a tee time with one other person and asked if we could drive separate carts (because it’s August 2020 and we’re currently in the middle of a global pandemic). The employee at the pro shop demanded we pay an additional $15 for the extra cart.
In other words, we were given the option to either violate social distancing protocol or pay an extra $15 on top of the already overpriced green/cart fees.
Just because I book a tee time with someone doesn’t mean I have been living with them or feel comfortable sharing germs with them at this point in time. It’s of course impossible to stay 6 feet away (or 1 foot away for that matter) from someone you’re sharing a cart with. Even if they’re wearing a mask, the virus can very easily spread from that close distance. They should start respecting their customers safety or shut down the course until things are safer.
They deleted their initial response to my complaint on Google reviews in which they called me "Justin" (showing that this response was clearly copy and pasted from another place and not thought out at all). I emailed the course and was told that they don't have enough carts, and that's why I was charged the additional fee in addition to the original cart fee. This of course is absurd as we still took the same number of carts as we would have otherwise, we just had to give them more money to do so. Cart availability wasn't an issue at all. When I stated this they responded with a condescending response claiming I just don't understand their policies, and aggressively telling me to call his cell number "if you wish to discuss this further."
Overall, not bad for the price
The roughs were a little overgrown, but there has been a ton of rain and sun lately, so I kind of get it. The greens were slow, but not impossible to adjust to. It’s still a good course for the money, and the staff is nice enough.
Terrible Layout
Terrible layout, tee boxes are right next to each other and sandwiched in between other greens. It’s nerve wracking being in the fairways while people are teeing off towards you from both sides. The condition of the course was also poor. The fairways were not in good shape and the tee boxes were BAD.
Ranger Rick Ruins Round
Pros:
Price was right.($42 for an 8:15am tee time)
Range and practice green in close proximity to 1st tee box.
Greens were in great shape
Cons:
Course has no character. Many identical holes. Confusing layout
Fairways were in subpar condition.
Tee boxes and cart paths were in terrible shape.
*No starter.*
By the 4th hole I had already decided that I would never make the drive from South Jersey to Ed Oliver again because of the boring layout and choppy fairways. But all of that was overshadowed by what occurred between the 8th green and 9th tee box. Our 3some was approached by a staff member, posing as a Ranger. Despite his politeness, he managed to insult our group with innuendos, assumptions, and incorrect information.
As I mentioned previously, there was no starter, so the 2 4somes in front of us seemed to be right on top of one another with the leading group playing very slowly. We were a 3some and we had a 2some playing behind us. We had to wait on nearly every tee box and most of the approaches on the front. Enter Ranger Rick!
“I’m going to need you guys to pick up the pace. Every group behind you is jammed up and the group in front of you is already in the 10th fairway.” Despite my sizable frustration, I bit my tongue and replied “sure thing!” When we actually made it to the 10th tee box, we were able to see the group ahead of us, who was now a 2some, just pulling up to the green. We finished the fromt in 2hrs 15 minutes, which is slow by my standards, but right on time for a 3some stuck behind 2 4somes. I do not appreciate being blamed for backing up the course when you don’t have a starter to ensure that pairings are set, and groups don’t tee off too early,
I will never frequent this course again and I would not recommend anyone else to either, unless you don’t mind being blamed for others incompetence.
Nice little track
Friendly place - a nice shorter track with some neat holes. Conditions were a little rough, but that’s to be expected given the current situation (covid). Friendly staff and reasonable rates for 18
Not bad
Always available for a tee time. Starter/ranger is a bit pushy. Hate being paired with a random person and the starter just shrugging us off. A bit pricey this last time around for some reason. Porkys is average at best
Olivers
Great course, great shape, enjoyable round
A real improvement
The tee boxes and greens were in great condition. The fairways were also for the most part. The rough was tall. We could see the care that has recently been put into the course. Will be back.
Well Maintained and a Variety of Reasonable Challenges
I was surprised that this course was rated as 3.5 stars. The course was well maintained with a variety of different reasonable challenges.

Beware of the greens!
Sometimes Porkys gets a bad rap, but the greens are always as fast and true as any private course in the area. Great value and never cart path only.
Thank you so much for your review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed our course. We appreciate your feedback, and hope to see you back again soon.
Starting time
Had another great round with my good friend. The only problem that I have is the start of play. I understand that the course wants to start everyone behind one another. But I think that a staggered method may be helpful. Start on Hole 1 then the next on Hole 10. So their would not be a back log on the beginning Hole.

Pleasant Surprise
Course has been renovated and well maintained from my last visit 2 or 3 years ago. The greens were in excellent shape and the fairways were green and well maintained. .
