Too many golfers
A beautiful fall day, course in good shape and all this was ruined by Casper Mgt chasing the almighty dollar. Have played Porky’s many times before and have always like the course. Today was the worst time I’ve ever had there due to 7 minute intervals on the tee times. That’s crazy to think people can play a hole in 7 minutes. We were about 10-15 minutes late at the first tee due to 3-4 foursomes waiting to tee off. Every hole there was a wait and on some holes there were 3 groups at once on the hole. Mgt trying to stuff as many golfers as possible on the course ruined what could have been a nice day. That’s why I don’t play Rock Manor anymore and Porky’s has just joined the list of course I won’t play anymore!!
Nice course
Greens were pretty good fairways in decent shape. Overall for $52 can’t complain one bit
Hadn’t played “Porky’s in a while
Liked the changes to the layout; tee boxes and some fairways not in the best of conditions.
Greens just aerated and are in good shape.
Would play again- close, friendly staff, plenty of good golf for a mid-handicapper.
Labor Day round
Friendly staff, greens were in great shape, rough was a little long, fairways were ok.
Ok for the price
Fairways in rough shape - tee boxes beat up - greens were fairly nice. Course layout left a little to be desired. For the $35 it wasn’t a bad value. Would maybe play again under right circumstances but won’t look to play there regularly.
ignorant to the pandemic
Horrible experience all around! The course itself needs a lot of work, and is currently on the verge of unplayable. Bunkers are rock solid, rough is overgrown and fairways are in horrible shape. One hole had 30 yards of mud with scattered grass leading up to the green where the fairway should’ve been.
I booked a tee time with one other person and asked if we could drive separate carts (because it’s August 2020 and we’re currently in the middle of a global pandemic). The employee at the pro shop demanded we pay an additional $15 for the extra cart.
In other words, we were given the option to either violate social distancing protocol or pay an extra $15 on top of the already overpriced green/cart fees.
Just because I book a tee time with someone doesn’t mean I have been living with them or feel comfortable sharing germs with them at this point in time. It’s of course impossible to stay 6 feet away (or 1 foot away for that matter) from someone you’re sharing a cart with. Even if they’re wearing a mask, the virus can very easily spread from that close distance. They should start respecting their customers safety or shut down the course until things are safer.
They deleted their initial response to my complaint on Google reviews in which they called me "Justin" (showing that this response was clearly copy and pasted from another place and not thought out at all). I emailed the course and was told that they don't have enough carts, and that's why I was charged the additional fee in addition to the original cart fee. This of course is absurd as we still took the same number of carts as we would have otherwise, we just had to give them more money to do so. Cart availability wasn't an issue at all. When I stated this they responded with a condescending response claiming I just don't understand their policies, and aggressively telling me to call his cell number "if you wish to discuss this further."
