Great course for the money
Easy to book, challenging course with many 300-400 yard holes. Tees and putting greens in great condition
bad shape
I know winter golf can be difficult, but this course is in pretty bad shape. greens are lumpy and fairways are mostly yellow and weedy. They staff and grounds crew seem to be working hard to get the course back into shape . Will be a nice option if they do
Rough
Fairways and greens in rough shape. Got good deal on golf pass so it was Allright. Saw some 5somes and a 6some. Slower play 4.5 hr round
Relaxing time. Perfect fall afternoon of golf
The course is enjoyable.
The greens have some spots and bumps (aside from ball marks), the fairways are thin of grass, but the landscaping and water features were very nice.
All course is longer than most I have played but there were 2 shorter par 4’s as I recall.
To be able to get out to play with family in Merced area was the lost important thing for me.
This course has cool features
1st time playing this course and me and my buddy honestly had a great time. It was nice playing somewhere different. Staff was friendly and course was fun to play.
Carts
Everything was ok,except the cart was in terrible condition.
Everything was great, except for the show pace. Didn’t see the Marshall to enforce faster pace
Needs love
Very poor condition. Half dead fairways, rough greens, completely neglected roughs/weeds. Dead trees all over, dead driving range and no range balls.. just a waste of money.. staff is nice despite the poor course conditions..
DO NOT GOLF HERE!
This course is in horrible shape. I never would have made the 30 minute drive to play this course if I knew how terrible the conditions were. This was a beautiful course 5 years ago. So if you haven’t been here in a while, save yourself the headache. Long 5 hour round with backed up tee boxes on every hole. Greens and tee boxes were lousy. Flooded fairways on the front 9 and desert fairways on the back 9. Range is garbage. Not much good I could say about my experience other than the course layout. Never coming back to this course and that’s very disappointing.
Over booked
I booked this course because they had tons of tee times. I know the course conditions are not best but at least I could get a quick round in before it gets too hot. Well that was not the case. I booked a 7:55 tee time and there must have been 6 golf carts waiting on the first tee at 7:55. They overbooked the course and made the pace of play unbearable. Terrible management and I hope it changes.
Surprised
I have never played a golf course were no fairway grass. The greens are OK and the tea boxes were OK. Probably won’t play there again unless they use some water on their fairways. The driving range was terrible. The golf carts were terrible and the cushions were torn up. Surprised anybody plays there.
Poor Conditions
The entire course was dry and realistically should not be open for play. The dry conditions I'm sure added unnecessary scratches to my clubs. Don't know why exactly it's in this condition but definitely should be mentioned when booking a Tee-Time there. We have played the course many times and is one of my wife's favorite but Yesterday round was disappointing.
Course needs some TLC!
Title says it.
The course was fun. It’s very forgiving and easy for duffers like myself. Greens aren’t terrible but could use attention. Tee boxes in good shape for the most part but the fairways were universally neglected. Dead, yellow grass, dry and hard. Several of the water hazards were empty or with just enough water in them to be muddy and boggy. Sand traps also not worked much. Most of them were hard/compacted from being watered but never raked. Pace of play was great, tee times every ten minutes and none for 2 spots behind us. Snack shack was closed and there was no beverage cart service, also looked like 19th hole was closed as well. Pro shop had just a handful of items in it. Carts work fine but look in pretty rough shape. Overall the value for the money is good, and we enjoyed our round.
Dead Fairways
Signed up and went out to play golf. Got over there the golf carts they give you and had available. Have big chunks missing out of the side of the seat and are not very good condition. Once I got out on the course, all of the fairways appear to be dead and almost dirt in most places. Do have Green around the putting areas and approaches. Some of the tees as well.
The staff there are very nice people, but super disappointed in the golf carts and the shape of the course itself. I just don’t know how people keep going out there to play. I only played a few holes and left complete waste of my day.
