Going through changes
Unfortunately Kissing tree has gotten a little bit worse each time I make the drive down from Austin. The tee boxes used to be perfect and now it seems like they are having irrigation issues and some are marked as ground under repair. Many bunkers have the weed guard ripped and showing. I would still consider the course to be in good shape but not as pristine as it was 2 years ago. They have also shortened the gap in between tee times down to 10 minutes.
Great Course
Fairways and Greens were in great shape. I liked the placement of fairway and the green bunkers. It made the round very challenging.
Starters were a hoot and made the start of the round entertaining.
Cool course
Fun to play. Shorter course but challenging, fast greens!
Great course
Second time playing the course and was in great shape. Played in 4 hours and staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it to everyone
Great track
Course was in fantastic condition especially the greens. Will definitely be back!
Under improvement
A couple of holes have tee box improvement going on, so you have to use temporary tees 50-100 yards in fairway. More homes being built near and in view course, so it may end up being like many other courses that give you the feel it is right in the middle of a neighborhood, instead in a hill country setting.
One of my favs
Being at least 50 minutes from my house in San Antonio, kissing tree is a difficult course for me to pass up on the weekly basis. I decided to take a drive out to San Marcos and was able to find a good deal in the morning. Being one of the only courses that has solid bunkers with actually sand in them, fairways and tee boxes being manicured correctly and with no excessive slope, and an overall fun track that presents some challenges, but fun round of golf for a med to high level players to get some reps on. Greens looked like they had been inch about a couple months ago and we running a little slow but rather true and better than most public courses around. I will definitely be returning hopefully sooner rather than later!!
