They do not allow riders
Just a fair warning since it’s not published anywhere on their website, they do not allow riders. On top of that the course is overgrown, with extremely slow greens. Better off going to the bandit a few miles down the road.
Rough conditions
Course has had very difficult transition from winter rye to Bermuda. Lots of bald spots in fairway. Greens are like putting on a washboard. Might bounce in the hole might not. Either way bring your heavy putter cause they are slow. Play it in the winter after it is over seeded with rye.
Kissing Tree is a gem
Really nice course …staff and facilities are awesome !
Worth the drive
Drove from Houston to pay this course,( a 3 hour drive). It was worth the drive. Course length was not extremely long, but most of the hole were challenging. Nice rolling hills. Number 18 was a little dissapointing for a finishing hole (able to drive the green easily on your drive, par 4). Other than that , I would make the trip again. I played the Red tees.
Not quite ready for full price fee
From a distance the course looks green and inviting . A closer look shows there's still work to be done. First the greens were bumpy and many holes had bare spots on the putting green aprons and sides. There are blind shots in a few holes that keep you from fully committing on your shot. Probably would not play it again for the $80 fee.
Great track! Love It!! However.............?
Not so much to talk about this time around, the greens have been recently punched and sanded, needless to say, the course needs a few weeks to heal and the grass around fairways are desperate need of cutting, we have had insain amounts of rain as of late in
central TX and the course shows!! the bunkers need alot of help.
It would have been nice to know that the greens were punched and sanded when I made my tee time or checked in, kinda disappointing, this place aint cheap!
A must play in central Texas
Great practice area and course design. The course conditions were
Excellent and I can’t wait to play this course again.
Overpriced for conditions
Second time playing this course. First time 18 months ago. Second time conditions were not up to price point. Practice facilities are excellent. Front nine is average? Back nine is a great layout!! Too many choices in the area for the conditions around the green to be like they are.....again. Looks like a nice
retirement community. All facilities around the golf course look top notch. Customer service doesn’t
look to be too worried about outside play.
Getting Ridiculous!
I’ve played kissing tree probably 20 times and have always loved the course and the layout. However, after yesterday, I was very disappointed.
Me and 3 friends wanted to go out and play. We brought our girlfriends with us. Upon arrival I was told that the course did not allow riders at all. I figured the guy who was bringing the carts up didn’t know what he was talking about because the weather was kind of crummy and there was no one there. I went to the pro shop and asked if it would be ok that the girls rode with us and got the same answer. Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, I was told that in front of me there were 3 guys playing and 1 of their girlfriends was with them. They already had to take 2 carts. In order for the 1 guys girlfriend to ride with him, he had to pay a green fee for her and rent her clubs. She wasn’t even getting out of the cart but the guy had to pay $150 just for her to be there.
I completely understand not allowing riders if it requires extra carts and the course is busy. Especially since the carts at Kissing Tree are falling apart. It makes sense, more so on the weekend because they only have a certain amount of carts and if they start giving extra carts out, they can easily run out. But when there are 2 groups on the course and no one else is coming, I don’t see the problem. The thing that blows my mind is that they were perfectly fine with us having 4 carts if we were willing to pay a green fee for the girls and renting them clubs. So an 8some on a hole is ok, but god forbid you have 4 players in 4 separate carts so our girlfriends can ride around and enjoy the day with us. I hope things change because it really is a great golf course and it’s usually in great shape.
Has been better
I have played there in the past and has been in great condition but this time every Green had at least 40 or more David marks that were not fixed which really made parts not roll true at all. I have played there at least four other times and usually in great condition. The fairways were being over seeded which I understand those have not grown out yet. But just was very disappointed with the greens.
on Course Construction & Poor Sand Conditions
I played this course on Saturday and I was extremely disappointed. For a course that charges nearly $100 dollars, there was construction throughout the course on fairways that was not mentioned and the upkeep around the greens was lousy. Bunkers had not been raked overnight and even had piles of sand/mud in them. I would not choose to come back here for my money.
Great course!! Love it!! Feels like a 5star resort course !
Hidden Gem with great practice facilities
Visiting Austin, I wanted an off the beaten path course. This was it! Everything others said, very nice course in very good condition (sand was terrific) and great staff.
I thoroughly enjoyed my round in spite of the rain in the last 2 hours.
This is so ridiculous. My wife comes with me all of the time and have not run into this issue at other fine courses. I can understand an added partial cart fee but what they are doing is ridiculous. What if you are in a threesome does the single have to pay double and rent clubs for the phantom golfer. My wife rode with me at Harbor Town, Pinehurst, Innisbrook copperhead course, And many other upscale resorts.
