linksy with an abundance of water Photo submitted by MarkMolyneux on 03/11/2020
Gumba Golf
Course plays fair for average golfer. Large Greens are perfect speed but very undulating. I wish people would remember to fix their ball marks on the greens. I understand it’s a links style course with some water holes but would love to see the rough cut down a little more to keep pace instead of looking for ball just off the fairway but all in all I love this course. Course management are doing a great job.
Challenging layout in good shape
Second time playing this course which has an interesting layout and was generally in great shape. The greens were smooth and fast and there is plenty of water to challenge you. Price was reasonable for the quality.
My criticisms are few. The rough was 5-6 inches deep and there was no secondary rough. I lost my ball twice just off the fairway. It may be that they couldn’t cut as it was wet in some areas. The tee box for the white tees was very beat up. It looks like the tees had not been moved for weeks. It was hard to find a good stance and even ground teeing up the ball. Pace of play was 4:40 which is long. If the rough was more playable it would move faster. Despite the criticism I will be back.
St Anne
Nice course. Will make this a part of routine this Summer. Much better shape than first time playing it. Will be back.
Sooooo tough
Besides the fact a lot of greens sorta tourtis shelled and fall off on all sides, besides the fact a lot of greens are elevated and bunkered well, they are lighting fast right now !!!
I suggest for first time players, play a tee forward from normal. This is a difficult course that will only get tougher with a few more years. ( only 5-6 years old now) lookin out at the course from the pro shop and putting green, it’s very visually appealing. The range was closed when we played.
Review
Nice track with tons of undulation. Greens were tough and somebody irritated the greens keeper cause the pin placements were brutal! Made it very enjoyable for me.
no carts
Booked for 10:50 Sunday morning. arrived 10;30. No carts for 3 groups before us and countless afterwards. Had to wait for groups to finish before you got your cart. went off close to 35 minutes late, and then waited on every tee box starting w 2. Split the tee times by 2 more minutes, and both problems get at least somewhat alleviated.
Good value
Overall very good experience. Condition of course was very good especially considering the cooler wetter weather we have had this spring. Only complaint, the 2 bozos playing in front of us felt they needed to wait to hit when the group in front of them was well out of range and then repeatedly hit the ball into the water or less than 100 yards!! Borrowing a movie line , "It's important that a man (golfer) know his limitations."
Tough test of golf for top players
After hearing that St Anne's was under new management and ownership I made my first visit to play and it will certainly not be the last. On a day where it was extremely windy and cool, I knew scoring was going to be extremely hard. The views of the course are really nice and you can tell right away that this a tough test. The turf was firm and not spongy so drainage is good. The teeing areas and fairways are in very nice condition The real test of the course is club selection in the wind and dealing with the fast undulating greens. There are few straight putts and many of the greens are crowned like Pinehurst 2. There is water on a majority of holes and the forced carries over wide water hazards really make for a ton of white knuckle shots.
The pins were put in diabolical spots and you really cannot roll the ball up onto the greens due them being elevated and well trapped.
This is stadium style golf and there are future hopes for a professional tournament to come here. The course is only going to get better with proper ownership and caretaker going on now
If you want a fierce challenge with your golf definitely go play St. Anne's this year.
Water hazards
Staff was very friendly, played after a day of heavy rains the day before so course was pretty wet. Tee shots have to be accurate because there is water on 3/4s of the course . Challenging course , I’d definitely go back
want to play again
First time playing, windy raw day, layout was challenging, greens were in OUTSTANDING shape !!!
Blow me Down
Course in good shape & played well. Wind was gusting to 30-40 at times. Ridiculous when hoping to shape a shot to greens when you have to hit it 30 yds. side of green to fight wind.
Considering its march and the amount of rainfall recently, not bad. Greens could cut now, may need to aerate to help with drying out the course. Pace of play was really bad, group in front of us playing the back tees, shouldn’t have been, the course needs to maintain the pace of players, or no one will come and play it.
Want to play again - we'll be back.
Great February day for golf.
Good modern layout with a variety of length and challenge. Par 3's ranged from 140-240 yds. Greens are often raised, have considerable slope, and rolled smoothly. The shaved areas around the greens make the greens play much smaller than they look. Fairways are generous and the turf is nicely grown in. Large mounding around the greens are visually appealing and offer an extra challenge. Several large bodies of water were incorporated well, especially on the back nine. A couple tee boxes were beat up, but the new owners have already started working on them.
The pizza , wings and drinks after the round were top notch. I could have used a snack after the 6th hole (near the clubhouse) but they are not yet offered- maybe during the full golf season.
I can't wait to come back when the weather is a little warmer and the grass greens up.
great course
even on a rainy day the course was fantastic. great layout and I was very happy with everything. I wish there were more targets on the driving range but that may be due to winter.

Reviewer must be getting paid for reviews, golfers don't write like this, read other reviews from bradco about other courses and they are all long winded and too flattering, don't pay attention to this dribble.
