Great course
really nice layout and everything was in fantastic shape. really enjoyed my round out there. I only wish they had more markers to hit at on the driving range but that could have been because it's winter.
Tee Boxes
Great course - loved the layout. Overall great shape except for tee boxes - they need some attention.
Tee boxes
Really enjoyed this course - only criticism I have is the tee boxes were not in very good shape
St Annes
Haven't played St Annes for two years and heard things were changing for thr good. Thus was correct. Greens and Fairways in very condition for December.
Only thing I see that needs improvements are the cart paths and the tee box markers.
Good job to whomever is making improvements to course.
I will definitely return.
5 Star Review
I can’t help but give St Anne’s a 5 Star review. My son and I drive over an hour to play it in the off season for the conditions and rate. Sunday did not disappoint. Awesome layout. We played from the whites because it was 41degrees.
I recommend playing from the back on better weather days. It is a very challenging layout and will have you playing every club in your bag. The fairways and greens are in great shape and roll well. Enjoy. They added a pizza oven and what sort of looks like a black tie pool bar. Maybe someone should re-think that one. A regular pub at a course would seem to do better. Take a look at one of Jaw’s places. Always packed in after the round.
I also think adding the course to #golfnow will bring in more revenue.
Nice Links Course
Haven't played here for a couple of years and found the course has matured nicely the Greens were big and fast and the fairways and rough were in beautiful condition. The one area needing attention is Tee Boxes some were dirt and many were not marked with the painted rocks they seem to use for markers but it didn't take away from the day .My only other suggestion would be to bring a range finder they have no yardage markers other than the 150 marker in fairway not sure why in today's world GPS isn't available... Overall very nice course
11/12/23
My son and I originally had a tee time somewhere else and decided to give SA another shot instead. I heard about some of the changes that were made and was curious to check it out. All I can say is you need to play this course. Unbelievable shape from the clubhouse to the practice areas, it’s worth coming to SA.
Definitely go back
First time playing the course. There were a lot of water hazards, course not marked the best but overall great course and very reasonably priced
Wide open course
The only drawbacks I have are the signage is not good. Directions from hole to hole not clearly marked. It’s very hilly. It can be tough for seniors to walk up and down. Need paths to the tee boxes and to and from the greens. They also need to re-layout the 16th hole. You have to layup them shoot over a wide pond. Some seniors and especially ladies could never score well on this hole. Otherwise love the course.
Wait a couple years
Pulled up for a 9 AM tee time around 8:30. Takes us about 10 minutes to check in. We get set up on a cart and pull up to the putting green which is right next to the 1st tee. At the first tee there’s a line of maybe 8 carts waiting to tee off. At this point it’s about 8:55 and we are behind 4 groups waiting to tee off. I went up and asked each person there what tee time they had. The group waiting to tee off next was supposed to actually tee off at 8:20. It took us another half hour before we finally got up to the tee. There was no starter around and the only person working at the course was the kid in the pro shop. It was an 80 degree day . We finish our round in a little over 5 hours then we were going to stop at the bar for a quick drink before we got out of there. We sit down, get our drinks and the employee comes in and makes us take all of our stuff off the carts so he can use our carts for the group waiting to tee off. Give it a couple years and maybe they will get it figured out but as of now don’t waste your time. Frog hollow and back creek are much better options.
First time playing this course. We will definitely be back! Fairly priced and pace of play on an early Sunday morning was expected. The only thing that hurt the rating (5 out of 5) was the lack of a starter. This made for a very slow pace of play for the first couple of holes. The course kind of leveled it out by like Hole 4. Ample amounts of water, not just on the course, but water stations around the course. Not seeing that a lot these days.
Plaid
recent verti-cutting left greens ultra fast and deceptively breaking. Really hard to stay straight w/out hitting the pattern.
Greatly improved conditions; challenging layout.
New owners have done a great job of improving the course and conditions as well as the facilities. Layout is exceptional, albeit a bit challenging even from the white tees. Very friendly staff and a great experience overall.
Disappointed
The sceneary was nice at times, however the fairways and greens where harder than pavement. Grounds crew was out the entire round (started at 11:30) and easily mowed over four different balls from our round. There is no 9th hole/turn house. Was wide open pace of play yet still could here people yelling and hollering. If the greens and fairways (80% of them) were not rock solid the round would’ve been much better. If they are better during the the spring or summer I would recommend, however I would not be returning to play there again.
Random Comments
1) Friendly Clubhouse Staff however groundskeeper with tractor mounted blower basically followed us for 5-6 holes. He would shutdown the blower but kept the engine on the tractor running and talking loud on his cell phone. Very nerve racking since he would do this on every shot down the fairway. I guess most people wouldn’t let this bother them but the course was basically empty and he could have diverted to another hole or area.
2) Hole #14 could have the fairway a little bit longer to the rough. You can hit a very good drive and be penalized because of the downhill slope will run right into the rough.
3) Hole#16 is just disgusting. This definitely a tin cup hole where you look at the yardage on your second shot over the water and say I’m going for it. That hole is up 2 balls on me. I’ve hit 2 of my best fairway woods and either didn’t make it over or made it over just to have my ball disappear into the weeds, lol.
In closing; I absolutely love this course and so far the management has treated me with respect and kindness. I don’t mean to be a negative Nelly, I was just very annoyed with the tractor guy. This was only my 2 time playing there and I look forward to continue to play at St Anne’s.
Thank You
Poor communication
I’ve played this course plenty of times, and honestly I love it so when I seen it was on the HOT DEALS list I jumped on it. I arrived 30 minutes prior to my tee time, figured I would try to hit a few at the range first. When I arrived I noticed there was a tourney about to take place which seemed odd. I walked into the club house where I stood and waited 30 mins for someone to finally walk in. The gentleman finally came in- asked my name and the only thing he said was ‘I meant to email you to say that we couldn’t honor your tee time’. I get it, things happen, you get busy c caught up etc but the nonchalance in which he made his comment rubbed me wrong. As if my time was worth much. He didn’t offer my another day, different time slot, not a free range pass or anything. Just to call golf now and cancel and then he walked way. Now I understand that they have recently made changes to the ownership and this was my first time there since and if this is how they treat customers than it will be my last time there.
Course is great, staff is even better!
I was a single player and was content playing behind groups and playing two balls. The ranger / starter Andy asked me if I would like to skip the groups in front and come back, so I took advantage of it. Andy was around multiple times throughout the day checking in on each group and maintaining a 4 hour pace of play. Course is in great condition and I love the creativity that the tee shots and approach shots require. I have a new favorite golf course!
Heritage Hills Golf Experience Package
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package

I’d be curious to know if you asked the “boy in the pro shop” about why things were backed up. Also, who leaves their bags on the cart after a round before getting a post round drink. That’s a bit selfish IMO.
