What Happened To This Place?!
Last year, this place was in great shape: smooth and moderately quick greens, maintained fairways, busy but good pace. Today I was shocked at the condition. The greens are very slow and bumpy (when inquired, told the current maintenance crew doesn't roll the greens---ever!). Massive intermittent patches in fairways and debris everywhere. We teed off before noon and were the final group out--during peak season. For the price this place should be embarrassed with the current condition. Management needs to walk the course and get a clue.
Played this course in the past and I was looking forward to it. Sadly it wasn’t very good fairways were terrible and the greens were I’m guessing a 2 on the stimp.
Played here this weekend (1/9/21) with my sons. The course was amazingly beautiful and well maintained. The greens were sticky and a bit slow for my liking, but nice. ...Excet for 1 sadistic pin placement, lol. Hole #9 can be a bit of a challenge, I washed more than my fair share of balls on that hole. I would play here again.
The S Jan.9
Fairways are not in very good shape. The greens are pretty slow also. Maybe this is due to the fact that during this time a year they don't cut them, I do not know? Pace of play was great.
Needs some maintenance
We had a perfect day for golf. I had played here before however the fairways are now in poor condition and the greens need to be manicured and rolled. Traps were in good condition as were most of the tee boxes. They have nice new golf carts.
Horrible faraway conditions.
I have not played on a course with such poor faraway conditions as I did today. Not a good value for the money. I'll never go back until they change managment.
Fairways are narrow and hikes go back and forth
Greens were lumpy and ball jumped around . Fairways narrow but large trees protects golfers from errant shots. Golf carts are street Legal with stop lamps as you cross a few roads to get to each different section of the course. I would rate it as average for the area. Staff very friendly and was great to see the cafe open for carry out .
Compact local course
Played the front nine here and the course was empty. Conditions were good, easy to score well if you hit straight. the 9th hole is a lot of fun with two water hazards.
Average, looks like a muni
First time playing here and was really excited. We used Underpar certs. We are from LA and Orange County, played Mountain Vista first, stayed one night, so we can play a second course to make a full weekend.
Verdict is this course is not worth it. To us, it looks like a municipal course so it's a course that was not worthy of our time, travel and cost. It is not as pretty and as well conditioned as the other Palm Springs area courses we have played.
The staff, however, were very nice. And the free driving range balls. However, we will not be returning as there are other cheaper and nicer courses in the area.
Players would enjoy this course
The layout is a reasonable play, well treed, fairly bunkered and a good test of golf. Although the fairways were dry and could use time to fill in after the warm weather, there was evidence of ongoing course maintenance in other areas with ropes directing cart traffic and soil/seed in some places. Three of us golfed, hdcps are 2, 6, and 12. We were all pleased.
