Golfer Reviews
Very nice greens
Enjoyed the round. The greens were very nice. Very few trees & quite wide open. Uses water hazards to add risk to the course.
Beautiful course.
Really enjoyed the course. Well maintained and challenging. Definitely will go back.
Great Track!
I'll be back...course was in excellent condition!
Hat's off to the course superintendent!
B National 4.4.22
Given the current drought in SWFL the course was in good condition. Pace of play was very good. Teed off about 10:30 as a foursome and played in 3:50
construction makes the course difficult to get around
Course needs more TLC especially more water on the fairways. Many fairways are a little more than GREEN dirt. Not related to the golf course, booked tee time through Golf Now website site but get survey from Tee Off. Interesting!!!
Great Course
I love Babcock Ranch. It's worth the 45 minuted drive from Fort Myers. Great Value and great amenities.
Awesome day but
Babcock has excellent practice facilities and is very well maintained. We were paired with a great couple from Michigan and had a really great time.
Until about the 13 th hole where the dope smoking group in front of us slowed our play to a walk. Have to assume the one guy was David Leadbetter because for the rest of the round we watched him giving detailed instruction on every hole.
If you're going to be a premium course it comes with expectations. Sometimes you have to manage the participants and there was no cavalry coming to our rescue unfortunately.
Low marks on off course amenities because when we finished our round after 6 the pro shop/washrooms were closed.
Great course for the money
Loved everything about the course although at times it felt like we were playing in a construction zone.
Round With the Wind
The actual course is excellent, but 30+ mph wind and dusty construction sites combined for an unpleasant experience at times. The wind was a 2-3 club difference situation which made some holes totally unreachable. I played with two other guys...one was big enough and strong enough to reach most holes, but the other gentleman and I...both pretty good golfers...had major difficulties. At times the dust/dirt in the air, from the many, many construction sites, almost obscured the view of our next shots. Then the staff lacked any genuine warmth or appreciation that they had to deal with paying customers. I was not made to feel welcome (FYI, I had driven an hour-and-a-half to try out this course). Finally, there was an issue with the cart at the finish...I drove it onto a sidewalk thinking it was a cart path to where carts should be dropped...I avoided the parking lot as the sign said, but the cart cut off and would only inch into reverse , but it wouldn't turn so that I could return from where I had come. I left the cart to find someone who could help, but there was no one at the cart/bag drop area. As I was searching, I saw a staff person had seen my predicament and had gone out to retrieve the cart. They had to back into the street to do so. At that point, the staffer began to yell at me and gesture angrily...continued to do it all the way around the clubhouse. It was my mistake, but I was searching for help, and I haven't been yelled at since I was in High School football. I am 72 and have been playing since the age of 5, so I freely admit my errors when they occur. The unwelcome attitude by staff has removed this course from my list. There are too many quality courses around who would have treated me with some modicum of respect and sympathy.
