The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Amazing condition and views!

Loved Kona! Such a great course with at least 4 holes directly on the ocean. Amazing pace of play and the course was in absolute perfect condition. Can’t wait to be back on the big island and play here again

Great course

This is a beautiful course overlooking the ocean. Lots of elevation on several holes. Nice restaurant called the View. With good food and views. Feel the cost is a little high but go on a Golf Now or receive a discount if staying nearby.

Great Ocean Views!

The course was beautiful with excellent ocean views. The pace of play was decent and the staff was friendly. I found the greens to be a bit tricky but it was my first time playing the course. I definitely recommend playing if you’re looking for a course near Kona.

Staff and scheduling ruined visit

Booked 4 players at this course. They scheduled multiple single players directly behind us. We let a couple of the singles play through but staff still came out on the back nine to tell us to play faster. Entire situation was created by how they scheduled and then they had the nerve to come out and be rude and tell us to hurry up. Won’t play here again, higher recommend you take your money elsewhere as well.
