About
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Great public course
Great set up. Mostly well maintained except the poor greens. The weather hasn’t been kind to those poor guys.
Great value
Good, fun course with fair greens fees. My biggest complaint is the 18th hole layout needs to be fixed. The rest of the course is fine but the 18th hole is so quirky. Either trim some of the trees down the left or open it up more to the right.

Fun Day
I really like this course. It is challenging but fair. Long but good breaks between the par 5's. I will be back. For the price it is well worth it.
Great Value
The course was awesome. Greens rolled great. Layout is a lot of fun. Not too hard or easy. My only gripe is there was not water anywhere on the course and the halfway house was closed. Other than that, the course was great.
great course, confusing cart rules
Best course I've played and for a walking senior, a great bargain. But I was confused by the website and thought it said no riiding carts. Maybe my own misitake?? Will play again soon
No food cart
Was disappointed that couldn’t buy no food while playing
Good parkland style course
Nice rolling terrain with interesting, and very different, holes.
18 could stand to be a little stronger? Maybe push the tees back a bit.
Keep the halfway concessions open longer!
Starting at 3:40, Would have been nice to have beer and restrooms after the 9th hole. Money lost, golfers forced to use the restroom behind the building.

Overall great experience. Would have been nice if the halfway concession and restrooms could have stayed open past 5 especially when there are at least 10 groups starting after 3:20. Money lost. With the restrooms closed, we all, men and women, had to pee off the side of the golf course to keep pace of play up.
Poor Conditions
I've played Hyland Hills many years and was one of my favorite places to play. The continued poor grass conditions and tee boxes that took a hammer to get my tee in the ground was unacceptable. I've seen the conditions of this course continue to get worse and worse over time, it used to be a very beautiful course, its now just dead grass everywhere. I will not be back again. Other courses are in 10 times better shape than Hylands in the same time of year. Very sad!
