Richter Park Golf Course
About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

The Eagle has landed
Unbelievable day on the golf course...what beautiful views...got to see a real live Bald Eagle up close and it was a majestic sight to see
Bad review for golf now.
I booked with golf now, got confirmation number, went to the course an hour early like I always do. Got a call from golf now saying they never got confirmation from richter. Went to starter and was told there was now room for me and my partner. Never got my money back from golf now.
Price increased without notice
Booked through GN $54 each includes cart. But was charged $79 each. They said the price just raised yesterday. Little pricy then.
I drove all the way to golf course (1hr), 55 mins before my tee time I got a call from Golfnow, saying that my tee time was never confirmed. I had a conformation from Golfnow. Spoke to golf course manger, he told me that I was not on there list. He also said he was booked solid, and could not get me and my partner out. WASTE OF A TIME FOR ME AND MY FRIEND, VERY DISAPPOINTED IN GOLFNOW!!!
Water, Wind, Hills, they had it all! Challenging but fun! Can't wait to return.
Wonderful Break from Reality
Kudos to Richter Park for letting golfers escape this crazy world for 4 hours (or less) in a responsible way! Played my worst round in 2 years and still enjoyed my round yesterday.
If you check the course out on GPS pre round it won’t do all of the elevation changes and blind shots justice. I was lucky to get paired up with a regular who gave me some local knowledge. There’s a great variety of hole length and style. Good chance you will use every club in your bag.
Bottom line: If you have the golf bug during this pandemic, make the ride up to Richter Park. It’s totally worth it. Just be on top of booking the tee time cuz they’re going like hot cakes!
Putting greens need serious work
This course has become my regular go to track for all the right reasons. It is an outstanding test of golf, a well thought out and designed layout. It will challenge your skills on every hole. It is very scenic. It is priced right. The people who run it are nice. And it has remained open throughout the winter and throughout the epidemic with proper precautions. I love this place. That’s why I need to bring up the issue of the greens.
I am not sure what is going on right now with the care of the greens but they should be in spring condition, beginning to run true and fast. Instead what they have in mid April are greens that are running like its mid January. It has gotten to the point that I am simply counting 2 putts when I reach the greens and moving on. They are maddeningly inconsistent, and in serious need of attention. When you play for the putt to break down the ridge towards the hole and it STOPS ON THE DOWNSLOPE, that’s not golf.
Don’t get me wrong. With golf shut down elsewhere I am truly grateful that Richter is open. But please please address the greens.
great course!
my playing partners and I had such a great time at this course! it was great to get out of the house and the course being so beautiful was such a pleasant surprise.. the staff was very friendly, the course was in great condition and we couldn't have asked for a better day!
Richter is scary good
I love Richter park. There’s something about the first hole that tells me that I love golf and I’m going to go really low. Then I hit my T shot and carve a low but, 275 yards down the middle. Then I shank my second shot into the water. And I remember that I suck at golf. Then I hit my 54 degree wedge from 107 and it spins right back into the cup for a ho hum par. Geez, I’m good!
Superb Golf
I you have a chance, you should take this baby on! Fun first hole, especially if you're a slicer. You need quite a poke to get out past the trees on the right but it's all downhill, which is nice...
There are some challenges and some side hill lies so best, if no one is looking, to kick your ball until you're happy. There is water and some OB so I recommend bringing more than one ball. Now you know how to play this course. Have fun and be safe out there !!!
