About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

Great course
This is my 1st chose of course with best scinic and layout. My wife had difficult time without bathroom on the course. Hope it will be avaliable next time.
The usual at richter
Tee Boxes look great.
Fairways look very good for the most part.
Greens as per usual are the weak point here, very inconsistent in both speed and patchiness (it could be March, July or October, same issue always). If the greens were as high quality as the tee boxes, maybe that could justify the price of this course to the community. But for the price of it… I’d rather pay a little more and go to Pound Ridge for tour level quality, not too far away from Richter. Really hope this changes this year.
But always a good round with even better water views.
I love richter but expensive for the conditions
Richter is one of my favorite local courses but right now with punched greens and no tee box markers, it’s not worth the $70 price tag
Golf it if you can
Spectacular layout and condition. It is hard for the intermediate golfer, but worth the experience.
Extremely Firm Conditions
Unfortunately I didn't show up with my game yesterday, and I played 15 shots higher than my index of 10. With the fall leaves and multiple blind shots out to sharp sidehills, I lost quite a few golf balls. Besides the tee to green challenges, the greens were quick, firm and very difficult for me to read. Having a bit more knowledge of the course now, I would take great care with aiming at the right areas of the greens to avoid being short-sided.

Great course but bring a lot of golf balls
This course is picturesque and is in perfect shape however bring a lot of golf balls with you because there are several water holes requiring carry either off the tee or on your approach.
