About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

Connecticut great
One of the best public courses in CT. The course offers difficulty through their layout, bunker placement, and difficult greens with plenty of undulation. The greens were fast and true, but had some rough patches in the front 9. Overall it was a very pleasurable course to play, and I will be back again.
Beautiful course
Course is more like a park! Nice layout! Challenging holes. Golf carts are great! Pace of play is descent. Some holes are narrow and long. One of the top courses in the area.
Not what it used to be.
With the exception of the greens, the course was in terrible shape. Most of the boxes were terrible hard to find a patch of grass. The quality of the Fairways was very poor for $85. I expected much more the course used to be in much better shape, even the area around the chipping green was in bad , even the area around the chipping green was in bad shape unless they significantly/the price I would not recommend coming here. We also played three holes behind a group of six. We had to call the clubhouse to get a ranger to come out. Unless they significantly/the price I would not recommend coming here
Richter Delivers
Always an enjoyable round at Richter Park. First time ever I was paired with a dog! Single had her lab on the cart for the round. She was a very good girl. Course was in decent shape with some spots on greens they are struggling with to grow grass. And given the flooding in the area the course wasn’t too wet just the usual holes like 11, 15 &16. First time there this year. Have avoided due to higher greens fees. Thanks to Golf Now for the Hot Deal!
Great experience!!
Overall great experience. Course is challenging, especially the greens. Good pace of play and the fee included carts and small bucket of balls. Got a hot deal and saved $15 per person. Thanks Golf Now!!!
WOW, what a course!
First time playing here and the only regret I have is that I should have been coming here more often. What a course! Challenging but not overwhelming difficult. Staff was super friendly. Great prices on drinks and food. The whole setup is there. Driving range, putting green, Cafe, bar and grill. One of the fastest turns after 9.
Course was in superb condition. Greens were a bit fast bit nothing ridiculous.
Looking forward to my next outing here. Plan to bring out of town visitors to play here. Great views throughout too!

Very happy with pace of play and wonderful layout! a challenge on every hole! can’t wait to play it again.
Greens were like shag carpet
Tee boxes were overgrown and many fairways looked like regular lawns with crabgrass. Soaked from rain so cart path only but still too many bad looking areas.

Remember how much I liked this course. It was so much fun to play and in such great condition. We truly enjoyed the course and would play it again.
beautiful course on a hot summer day
18 holes took 4.5 hours for our foursome. Only suggestion is to have additional cold water available on the course. There were two coolers. On a hot, hot summer day four coolers are safer.
New safety system on 6th hole
Was disappointed the new system on 6 was out of order. Safety is always an issue on 6…

Always a great day at Richter
Richter is a very well maintained and beautiful course. Challenging but not impossible. It can get busy but they manage the volume well. Best course in the general area and the staff is great at every spot. Great bar and restaurant after the round.
