Spectacular course

Was in town visiting friends and decided to play a quick round. The course was in spectacular shape! It was an enjoyable round. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were well maintained. The owners were extremely personable. The 10th hole(The Grill)was a bonus with live music on a newly constructed outdoor patio. I will be back! Don't miss this gem of a course!

A nice, homey course

I immediately had the feeling that this course is a laid back version of a more expensive private club . What courses have a horse shoe pit next to the club house? Texas, maybe. What courses have foot golf? None that I know of. And, what is foot golf anyway? Well, basically it’s like golf but without clubs and small balls. Soccer balls are used and alternate tee boxes are integrated on every hole. There is no green, only a hole about 24” wide set nearby the regular green. I’ve never seen it before but there’s even a league that plays at Copper Hill. It does not disrupt the regular play. One person was playing as we were finishing up. Please don’t get turned off by the foot golf. I don’t know the details but I’m sure foot golf is reserved for special times.

The conditions on the course were great: immaculate tee boxes, lush fairways, just cut greens and soft/full sand traps. A week of rain then warm temperatures really helped improve all courses in the area. Yes, there were a few bare spots but with less than an month into the growing season Copper Hill looked real good. Although a nine hole course, playing it twice and using a different set of tees, gives the player an altered perspective on many holes. The rates are very, very reasonable (ask for their specials) and getting a tee time was a breeze. It’s a very walkable course if you want the exercise.

Its length from the four sets of tees is 3039-2737-2548-2331. There are 2 par 5’s, 5 par 4’s and 2 par 3’s. From the blue tees the longest par 5 is 473 yard and the shortest 3 is 176 yards. The fairways are very wide and mostly flat with intimidating, small ponds, all right off the tees on four holes. The greens were slightly undulating, cut just right and the pin placements were fair and reasonable. The gravel cart path could use more gravel but I expect that to happen as the season moves forward.

There is a compact pro shop, a comfortable bar with good, inexpensive food and patio dining. The staff was extremely friendly.

The course is easy to find, as it is off I-91the off route 20 west of Bradley International Airport. It’s a great place to play a quick round under nice conditions. I'd play this course again.

Not bad for the price.

The course is not to bad overall. Great greens but the rest of the course needs some help. You can tell it does not get much if not any funding to improve the facility. Nice little golf course. Greens very difficult. Lots of slope and oscillations. Would play again if it was a good deal.

My favorite 9er this summer thus far

I am fairly new to the sport but play at least one new course per week. Other than the first, second & last holes being too close to one another, I really enjoyed my round. Grounds are meticulously kept for the price range & staff was very and accommodating.
