Great Jack Nicolaus design and course. Although only opened in November, this course is in terrific shape and will only get better!
Brand new course
Still still all the amenities aren’t there yet but the condo of the course is near perfect.
Hidden Gem That Won't Be For Long.
I took a chance and a drive from Cape Coral to try out this shiny new course. Let's get the negative out of the way first. The construction around the course is abundant and ongoing, but understand they are building what amounts to a small city. This appears as though it will continue for quite some time, but if you can get beyond this, you'll enjoy this course. The off-course amenities are pretty much non-existent. BUT, that is because they are brand new and did a great job in their set-up, which I'm sure is temporary, in order to get the course itself operational. So, tip of the cap there. The course is a fun one with.......GASP........water! I'm not a great golfer and therefore made some donations to the most saturated areas of the property. However, when I did hit the fairways, which I would consider to be exceptional, I got great roll out. The bunkers are well placed to offer a challenge to golfer of all ranges. The greens felt a little odd when cleaning up ball marks; loose and sandy compared to substantial and stiff. This could be due to the newness of the course. I'm not a seasoned vet, so I would defer to someone with greater knowledge. The greens were exceptional with regard to undulation and a bit speedy, which I like. Again, I must stress that I am not a great golfer, but I really loved the challenge these greens offered as they forced me to study intently before I attempted my putt. All in all, it was a very positive experience, and when I return to the area, I will be very much looking forward to playing here again to check out their growth. Oh, and I got to see a gator! Didn't try to pet it though.
Good Start - Needs Time To Grow
This course oopened a few months ago. It is the second course in a massive planned community called Babcock Ranch. The course lacks a clubhouse and permanent facilities (temporary bathrooms). The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a water practice range. Carts have GPS. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens as expected for a new course - nearly flawless. Water in play on every hole. Lots of sharp doglegs. Several tee options - but for me played too long or too short. Big gap between 6,200 and 5,400 yards. No way to walk this course - long distance between many holes. Lots of rocky/dirt cart paths. Lots of construction going on. Given time - likely an excellent course.
Great New Track To Play
First time playing here and I already look forward to coming back.
Pace of play was great - 4 hours - really only had to wait on one hole.
Conditions for a new course were very pleasing - starter told us greens were slow - they rolled true and were faster than what I anticipated.
It is a course weaving through an active construction site, but don’t let that deter you - the course is worth it.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming - even free coffee!
Nice new course, wide fairways, lots of slopes and water. Fun course New course only opened for 8 weeks. Lots of constructions in the neighborhood. Only has a temporary pro shop and washrooms for now.
Nice new course
Nice new course. Front nine appeared not mature enough to play on yet. Back nine appeared to be ready. It was a nice layout with true rolling greens. The greens were not fast. Pace of play was very good. GPS in carts worked well. Was nice to get out of the Naples and Bonita bubble to play a reasonable round of golf on a brand new golf course. No clubhouse yet so unable to review amenities. Driving range good hitting into lake.
Great shape for new!
Was well designed, good layout.
No clubhouse yet... Golf was all needed.
If you need to be seen... Go elsewhere. Will be back.
Very Playable
For being so new it is in pretty good shape and I thought it was fun to play. We really enjoyed the layout and ability to score. Slow but true greens in excellent shape. Apparently the clubhouse won’t be built for close to year so between the construction that’s the only drawback. I’ll be playing this course on a regular basis in 2025 when I move into a Veranda on the 18th fairway.
Webb Reserve New Course that doesn’t play like one
Sister course to Babcock Ranch - Webb Reserve is very playable, very good fairways, tees and greens. Greens are true but not slick, just above med speed so one can be aggressive. As a Scratch Senior competitive player the multiple tee decks can make the course challenging. My wife a six Hdcp enjoyed the course playing a combination of tee decks. Fair price for SWFL courses.
Webbs Reserve!
Great layout and design. Nicholas group really out done themselves here. Still young, so there is construction going on. This course will be amazing when it's finished. I like it better than The National and it's got a long way to go still. This is a must play!
Thanksgiving day outting!
Did a shotgun start at 9! Was nice because it placed all golfers in a position to keep pace going!
For a new course it was good! Allot still to be done! Firm greens but still slow. Fairway went from nice to staight out 8” ruff no low ruff in between, so if your hitting long carries make sure your to the fairway or its lost!
Overall this course will be nice when done. Wide fairways on most and if not placed right will be extra stroke. Ill play it again a second time and after knowing these things I’ll adjust. Driving range and putting green not open so starting cold.
New course, pleasantly surprised
Par 72, great layout. Sister course of Bonita National. Just opened 3 weeks ago, receptive greens. Fairways are still growing in, somewhat thin lies. All to be expected w/ it being new. Most new courses are hard as a rock when they open up, this one played better than unanticipated. Would go back for sure!
