Great course in Western CT
There are some great tracks in western Connecticut and Candlewood Valley one of them. A challenging course design and less expensive than other 18 hole courses nearby. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Pace of play is great on the weekdays much busier and slower on the weekends. Greens are in great condition and challenging. There are some tree line holes and fairways that will challenge your golf abilities and other holes that are wider and allow you to bomb away if you do choose. Sometimes the course is windy and very challenging to make par or bogey. But that’s golf.
Better Gem Than The Neighboring Town
First time playing here. Have lived in Danbury for 4 years and am so mad I am just now getting to this course. Had a huge rain the night before and the water really only sat on the cart paths. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. Will play here again ASAP
They need to add sand to all the sand traps they are nothing but dirt
Staff was not friendly
Father was told he would get the senior rate and was charged full price. Also was paired with one random which i never mind but had league players behind us and never once held them up or where they waiting in the tee box for us but was advised 3 times through out the round to speed up when never once was it needed. Finished under 4hrs. Club house were rude, ranger was rude. Any more then $50 course is not worth it. Not the first time i have had a bad experience their
Golf Course
I play here a lot . It’s Soring and the course is VERY wet and soggy. Course generally in good shape - bunkers need more sand filled
considering the weather....
course is in amazing shape considering it is the first week of december!! very few leaves, greens are in midseason form, tee boxes are very good, and fairrways are lush! its freaking cold out, but I must commend the grounds crew for being out there and doing an amazing job!
Terrible conditions.
We played Candlewood Valley today and the course was empty - and for a reason! The conditions were terrible, water everywhere, washed out cart paths, no leaf removal, etc. it was unplayable to the point it should be closed for the season.
Great Muni
Great course, well maintained. Easy to get to. Highly recommend
Fun course
Candlewood is a fun layout and they do a great job maintaining the course. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Greens wee very receptive to approach shots.
Course conditions
Course has a severe problem with water. It affected many holes. The rough couldn't be cut and finding your ball was a big problem
You had to be right ontop of it to see it. Not a lot of fun. Greens were excellent. Nice course to play under the right conditions. I understand that it was closed for 4 days and had to open it sometime.
Totally enjoyable
good muni
considering the rain from weekend course still in good condition. A must to play and a walk-able course if you like to walk.
Late summer round
This course had a tough impact from recent heavy rain storm but the groundskeeper and crew are doing good job to get it back in shape. Expect a few holes to be subpar.
Pace of play is quite slow so be prepared and expect slow round. No rangers on course that move play along.
Difficulty of some holes remain so not for the beginning golfer. Enjoyable if you like to walk!
With some TLC hopefully fairways will return! Still worth playing a round here
