Paid for 18 got to play 12
Paid for 12 cart guys wanted carts back at 6pm had over an hour of day light left.
great muni
great flat muni. If you have not played it yet, you need to. You will not regret it. Good walking course with good pace of play even on weekend.
October round
Weather was perfect but course did not have enough carts to keep up with tee times. Must be getting a lot of play and golfers are not replacing divots or repairing ball marks on the greens!
Hopefully maintenance can bring course back to better conditions!
Fun day
3 1/2 hours, great day! Has taken 4 1/2!to 5 hours didn’t see a ranger ever, that could be an improvement! Challenging course, narrow in spots!
Disappointing
I usually play Richter and had never played Candlewood. Course is pretty boring on the front except for number 4.. a par 3 with water. Play was slow and course was not in good shape. Richter is a far better course for less money
Candlewood valley golf course
Greatly over priced for a course with very little to praise. Very nice staff.
Late Summer
Pace of play was good, staff very friendly. Course always provides challenges.
Some holes appeared to have too much water recently and course looks like it has had a lot of play.
Always nice to return here.
only the back 9 holes were open to play. the course was air-rating the front 9. Golf now was notified of the work 3 weeks earlier and failed to post the closure on your web site. Tee off was a much better site to patronize before the purchase by golf now
Great Walking muni
If you love to walk you will love this flat course.
Great Walking muni
Great layout for walking. Fun but challenging greens. Great employees and very Covid conscious easy access from 84. You won't regret it.
Slow pace
I had a 12:12 teatime there was a of group 3 players in front. We started on the back nine and there was another group of 6
ahead of the group in front of us, by the time we began the Front 9 there were a
backed up. Apparently there was a scheduled teatime for the front now my head of the two groups that were ahead of us
While we were playing the sixth hole a Marshall came by saying that there were another group behind us waiting to play and apparently not realizing that there were 9 players ahead of us.
At hole 8 the Marshall after making the arounds came by an thanked us for moving things along but still not realizing that there were two groups ahead of us that was really causing the slow-down. I mention it to her at that time and she went ahead and addressed the problem
My wife and I walked all 18 holes even though we are seniors so the course itself is walkable it’s very flat, Pace was so slow that at one point I sat down on the ground until the group ahead of us had cleared the hole so we could play.
Cart Path Is unpaved and dusty.
It was a beautiful day so I enjoyed playing and that made the best of it
One final thought it’s a bit overpriced
Not worth the money!
Course is over-priced considering the course conditions. Played here as a last resort, will be first and last time. Much rather play at Richter Park for $5-10 more, and only 10 min away. Cart paths were horrible and somewhat non existent in some areas. Conditions were bad, but playable. Cart paths create a dust storm if you’re following a group around. Good luck! Golf on!
Little Pricey
Not worth the $68.00. Richter Park 15 mins down the road better for the price. If you are active duty military visiting the area, Richter Park offers a generous green fee for Active Duty Military. Terrible greens and fairways; no paved car-paths; muddy and bumpy car-paths. Very friendly staff and a very challenging course.
Best Buy in the Area
Candlewood has some of the best greens in the greater Danbury area. You need to be accurate to score with quite a few trees and narrow shots. Very few holes need the driver and smart golf pays off throughout the round. All around a very fun place to play with a friendly staff and rangers. It is particularly fun to walk as it is one of the flatter courses in the area. Earlier rounds on the weekend tend to bring out better golfers and faster rounds as it can get quite slow in the late morning. Note that there is not a driving range at the course, but one about 1/2 mile up the road that is open 24/7 (Vending Ball Machine).
Nice courseWith Some unusual holes
Well maintained and cared for. Some narrow fairways. Some challenging hazards and some funky holes.
