Excellent Greens
Greens are great, fast and true. White tees were up a bit.
Course has a few holes that have Electric Cables running across the holes. Chance of hitting those wires is small but they take away from the beauty of course.
Starter was/is one of the most miserable, unfriendly people I’ve ever come across on a golf course
Fun course, short from the tips
First time playing here, course was in phenomenal shape. Greens really quick and rolled pure. Really enjoyed it. Only knock is that if you love hitting driver this course forces you to be strategic off the tee.
Where's the beach?
How about putting some sand in your sand traps? Other than that, course is in decent shape.
Early Spring Golf
Great shape for early season, twilight fees are on par with other area courses, today’s staff couldn’t have been friendlier and the course was in good shape for April and played well-singles playing 2 balls slowed the pace is the only negative I have.
Oak Hills
The fairways great shape and greens were okay. But some greens were bumpy due to the rain. The traps need some work. But overall fair value for the price.
Great shape for early april
Love the course, always in great shape and true greens!
Early Season Play
It was the first 54 degree day in February. Temporary greens and tees, but it was great to get out again !
Your game is challenged under these conditions, but it all helps add to your skill experience.
winter play
the greens were all closed and you teed off twice from one hole all of the tees were moved up
Good course, but Winter Play is limited.
I like Oak Hills, and think it's a pretty nice public course in Fairfield County. I'm only writing this review to let other golfers now that it is not set up for real golf in the winter. Tees are set up in front of the tee boxes on uneven rough, and the holes are just holes dug into the fairway in front of the greens. I completely understand and appreciate that this is to let the tee boxes and greens rest during the off season. They have yellow sticks in the holes but no flags. I thought they should at least have flags to help a rangefinder pick up the distance. Mine seemed to work somewhat on the sticks alone but flags would also help golfers see where the holes are.
It's only $20 to walk 18 in the winter but you get what you pay for. Winter golf is really if you just want to get out and do some practice shots (putting excluded).
I recommend hitting Oak Hills in the regular season when it's s pretty nice parkland course open to the public for around $50/$60.
All temporary greens and tee boxes
I paid some money for playing golf at this course.
There were all temporary tee boxes and greens.
I regretted why I was there. I was not even finished all 18 holes.
Why did not they close course few months for maintenance?
It was kind of ripped off golfer’s money.
Don’t go this golf course during winter season.
It made you wasting your valuable money.
Better research other courses even you pay more.
no
In the future, don`t open the corurse .18th hole balance was too temporizing.
GOLFNOW doesn’t have the correct information
Golfnow did not make a note that the course was using winter tee boxes and greens. Also they charged $30 for a cart and the course did not have carts for the winter. Nothing against the course they are great and friendly staff. I will continue to play there.
