good greens
good course to play not long but good greens and good conditions some holes you can score on but some have tough undulations on the greens
Hot deal was worth it
A little tight but a very good golf course. . Local guys I played with were great. Had a lot of fun. Challenging greens but fair.
good greens
there was an outing before we played that finished and left the course wide open played in 3 1/2 hours usually not that fast greens are in great shape and course can be tight in spots
Enjoyed this course.
Played when it was raining but still enjoyed this course very much. Pretty open at spots and not that difficult of a course. Would suggest getting here if you’re just starting the golf year!
Unimpressed
Website had pricing at $56, and then as often at off peak times, price was $38. I went for the lower cost, found out later no cart. The $56 included cart. Cost for each PERSON for cart is $18.00. I would love to say that any details of course itself made it worth it, but no. Kid at the bag drop out bag in backwards, not a big deal, but attention to detail. Then in pro shop I questioned the philosophy of the pricing on he website and the two employees looked at me like they didn't understand english.
I won't be back.
Friendly staff
Challenging course and easily walkable
Staff is very friendly!
Very friendly staff
The staff at oak hills is always friendly the course is in great shape if you have not played there give them a try
Very Interesting
Played there today with three Korean golfers. They spoke very little English or pretended not too. However It worked for me, I shot 77 from the blue tees so evidently when I have no one to talk to I have better concentration . After we finished the eighteenth hole I asked them how it felt to be beaten by a 75 year old? they still didn't say much. Anyway, the course was great even though it was cold
A delight
Great, sloping greens. A wide variety of holes. Well worth visiting again and again.
Well run, lovely people.
Paid for 1/2 a cart?!?!
I really enjoy Oak Hills, and since my move to Norwalk, it has been my "go-to" location in terms of a quick 9, or weekend 18. However, I've been very disappointed with the staff's demeanor. No one outside of the pro-shop is pleasant to talk to, or even gives you the time of day. The other (and bigger) issue I had was that I used a Gift Card for my round, and when I arrived, I had to pay an additional $18 on top of the $50 I paid to drive a cart because "apparently" I only ordered 1/2 a cart which makes no sense. I was put with a threesome of people who talked during every shot I took, didn't fix ball marks and divots, and even took phone calls during the round. I was thrilled I had my own cart, and can't imagine what my round would have been like had I had to share a cart with one of them. Next time, please make it clear if I'm only getting 1/2 a cart, as I would have changed my plans so I didn't have to play with that awful group, and didn't have to pay an extra $18 cash because the staff made it extremely difficult on me. Golf should be fun, not a hassle or frustrating because of bad staff, and even worse people to play with.
A local gem
Rarely have I played a local municipal course in such great shape. A very interesting layout that requires you to use every club in the bag. There is a great deal of risk-reward but you must execute or you are penalized. Fairways and greens are in great shape, rough high so you want to find the fairway
Really improved
The course was always interesting and in pretty good shape, but now it is in great shape. With new carts and pro shop, plus great conditions, it's a must play.
