Many fairways at Portland plunge downward on their way to their greens. The first certainly exemplifies this, making for a tricky approach shot. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/25/2023

The 10th: Short par-4 that can be driven, but that’s a hard risk-reward proposition given what lies behind the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2022

A commanding hole in the form of a Switchback, twelve is also aesthetically impressive. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2022

Sixteen:one of the inward half’s two excellent par-5s; its green is fortified by a pair of yawning bunkers. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/21/2022

No joy
The was an outing of Middletown Toyota employees on the course this day. They were a drunken group of people who had zero respect for the course and the other golfers. The course staff did nothing to manage them and allowed them to take the course without following basic rules. There were foursomes with one bag of clubs, there was a group of eight who were drunk and yelling, they left garbage all around the course, and drove carts on greens and through bunkers. Not one corse ranger or staff member in sight all day. Solid six hour round of golf. Unacceptable!
Portland is definitely worth a visit
Great course, great deal on golfnow. Many blind shots and tricky holes that make you pay if you don't play careful. A lot of fun though. Don't expect to shoot your normal handicap if you don't play here regularly. They sometimes tend to cram in as many people as they can, especially on holidays. Definitely worth a trip.
Ok for money
The course & pace of play was good.
At 4:30 on Saturday afternoon the bar & grille room was closed ?!?

Golf was in shape. Pace of play was good. Same blind shots. Over all a pleasant experience. Would play again.
Perfect greens
This course was a pleasure to play, especially putting on such true greens. A lot of shots over hills where you can't see landing area but new sky caddy in cart helps a lot. Will try to play here again this year.
Great up and down course
Portland Golf Course has an extremely fun up and down layout. The holes are really creative and challenging to stay on the fairway. Conditions were excellent and the greens really rolled true. I was playing as a single and managed to play through 9 groups and finished in 2 hrs! Afterward I ate in the clubhouse and had an excellent meal with super courteous servers and chef.
Friday golf
Good course. Had fun and I would play there again.
Awesome shape
Portland is a well kept track. The greens were beautiful and true. Fairways were cut that morning and the rough was just deep enough to find your balls. We had lunch and were satisfied with the service. Play here if you can !
course management
whipping out the driver on every hole is not the best choice as there are lots of "blind shots",,,hilly, doglegs left and right...greens in good condition..
Challenging course, many blind holes
Course is in great shape - with exception of a couple of fairways on the back nine - which were very bumpy. If you're planning on playing with a buddy and don't want to get paired up, this is NOT the place to go. They will almost invariably pair you up even if its not busy.
BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK
GREAT STAFF TO GO WITH A FUN COURSE. VERY WELL KEPT FAIRWAYS GREENS AND BUNKERS.
Nice ride
Course is relaxing to play. Layout isn't overly difficult as long as you don't try to overpower it. A little hilly so take a cart if playing 18 on a warm day .
Great Scenery!!
Beautiful course!! Smooth greens enjoyed every second!#
Great value
Course was awesome and had a great time worth the price for sure
PGC
Course was in amazing shape and not one boring hole. Will be playing again real soon
nice for the price
played here over the weekend for the first time. Nice that there was a starter to assist, though the course was fairly empty and he was hesitant to let us tee off before our stated time even though it was open. layout and holes lend itself to course management. that makes up for the shorter distance so really have to play from blues or golds as whites are just too short. Course was in excellent condition! refreshing to see bunkers neately raked and retain sand with little to no rocks. this is different from many other courses in the area where bunkers are not wll maintained. Refreshment staff at the turn was friendly which was nice to see. there were water coolers spaced out throughout the course, though probably didn;t need one after whole 2. Will definitely play here again, expecially for $35.
the course is maintain well
i really enjoyed playing there the course is very well maintained and it has some challenging holes.
I feel this is the ideal course to build up your
confidence when you change over to the longer
courses.
course in good shape
foursome in front was very slow - waited on every hole (we were 4 also)!
Stuck behind drunk golfers.
Course has always been enjoyable to play. Not this time. Very belligerent and crass players in a tournament playing ahead of our foursome slowed the pace of play and made for a very long day on the course.
Great value
Very nice course. Good condition. Would play again.
