3rd: par-4, 430. This Cape design tempts you to take the shortest route down the fairway toward the green (on left). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

7th, par-3, 220. A well-guarded and contoured green; a pleasant backdrop. Seen here from its left flank. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

8th: par-4, 352. Green complex at this short and steeply downhill hole--made perilous by a pond. Eagle potential, however. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

The par-4 14th, 447. Long, beautiful, and possibly deadly. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

Sixteen is another excellent, long par-4 concluding on this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

18th, par-5 of 588. The signature hole? I’ll go for that. Great bunkering from Mungeam. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

Very nice layout in excellent condition
Fellow at the Pro Shop desk wasn't the friendliest guy, but he was OK, Pro shop just OK, starter was quite friendly and knowledgeable and gave good guidence for us as it was our first time playing here. Pace of play was OK for a Tuesday morning, we easily kept up with the group in front of us waiting on 5 of our 18 holes to tee off, all in all not bad played in 4:20, 19th hole left a lot to be desired, bar selection was OK, staff friendly, sadly no food available as the kitchen didn't open today. Likely a staff issue I guess but we were ready to enjoy lunch after out round and settled for a beer and left. We well play again, feeling that with a bit more knowledge we can shave several strokes off the round. Greens can be tricky and they were quick which we all prefer. Booked thru Golf Now and unfortunaely the tee time booked was different than what the computer showed in the Pro Shop, wasn't a problem but there was a glitch.
Great Visit to Connecticut National
Connecticut National Golf Club turned out to be a nice find for a Fathers Day round of golf. Greens and Fairways were in excellent condition. The fairway and greenside bunkers are in rough shape and could use some love. There are five(5) Par 3's. We played the Blue Tee's as low/mid-teen handicappers, which were just the right challenge. Definitely recommend others give this a chance.
Always a favorite
I make the 1 hour 10 minute drive a few times a year just because of the quality of the course. This time there was a little more sand than I have seen in the past, slowed them down just a touch. My only issue with the course is the 10th tee which sets you up with the ball above you feet, Other then that it was a wonderful day.
CT Nat'l Golf Course
Great course - I've always loved this place. Pro Shop person a bit of a jerk. And the food is nothing to write home about. But if you love golf, this is it!
Conn Nat a Gem!
Great track! They have some real tricky greens! Always a pleasure
Not Typical Round
My lower rating than usual for Connecticut National is due to a few greens in bad shape, very sandy, and a few idiots on course that brought pace of play to a standstill. I know Rangers spoke to the slow group but obviously didn't help.
Private-level Conditions
Excellent conditions all around - absolute bargain at the regular rate. Unfortunate slow play a few groups ahead (2-hole gap), but the course itself was phenomenal. Will be going again.
Bring your best putting with you
I played here before a few years back and loved it then and love it now. Fast tricksy greens! 11 boggies! A must play in CT
two foursomes
We played an old guy, young guy challenge and had a great time. Course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was a bit slow. The 19th hole could of had more of a selection.
Trouble with the greens
I’ve played many a round at CT national, and I have loved this place in the past. The layout is tough but fair. There are many scoring holes, and a few holes where par is a good score. The conditions have been pristine over the years. The greens are usually the fastest I’ve ever seen at a public course in the New England, which is something I like.
Unfortunately, today was a bit different. They seem to have had a problem with many of the greens having some dead or possibly diseased spots. It made some sections of some greens completely unusable. The greens were also very inconsistent. Some were very receptive while others weren’t. Some were quite quick while others were very slow. It doesn’t appear they’re going to be able to save these greens this summer, and honestly looks like they’re going to need major reconstruction on a few. What’s a little disappointing is they have raised their prices while the conditions aren’t quite what they usually are, many areas of some green were unplayable as I previously mentioned.
Hope they’re able to bring them back for next summer.
Great condition
Course conditions are looking really good. New tee box on 15 came out great. Love this place. Great for a quick 18 late afternoon.
Real Gem
C-H-A-L-L-E-N-G-I-N-G!!!!! Great layout, lots of challenges, but fair layout. Lightening fast greens. Course well taken care of. Definitely play again
