3rd: par-4, 430. This Cape design tempts you to take the shortest route down the fairway toward the green (on left). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

7th, par-3, 220. A well-guarded and contoured green; a pleasant backdrop. Seen here from its left flank. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

8th: par-4, 352. Green complex at this short and steeply downhill hole--made perilous by a pond. Eagle potential, however. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

The par-4 14th, 447. Long, beautiful, and possibly deadly. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

Sixteen is another excellent, long par-4 concluding on this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

18th, par-5 of 588. The signature hole? I’ll go for that. Great bunkering from Mungeam. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

two foursomes
We played an old guy, young guy challenge and had a great time. Course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was a bit slow. The 19th hole could of had more of a selection.
Trouble with the greens
I’ve played many a round at CT national, and I have loved this place in the past. The layout is tough but fair. There are many scoring holes, and a few holes where par is a good score. The conditions have been pristine over the years. The greens are usually the fastest I’ve ever seen at a public course in the New England, which is something I like.
Unfortunately, today was a bit different. They seem to have had a problem with many of the greens having some dead or possibly diseased spots. It made some sections of some greens completely unusable. The greens were also very inconsistent. Some were very receptive while others weren’t. Some were quite quick while others were very slow. It doesn’t appear they’re going to be able to save these greens this summer, and honestly looks like they’re going to need major reconstruction on a few. What’s a little disappointing is they have raised their prices while the conditions aren’t quite what they usually are, many areas of some green were unplayable as I previously mentioned.
Hope they’re able to bring them back for next summer.
Great condition
Course conditions are looking really good. New tee box on 15 came out great. Love this place. Great for a quick 18 late afternoon.
Real Gem
C-H-A-L-L-E-N-G-I-N-G!!!!! Great layout, lots of challenges, but fair layout. Lightening fast greens. Course well taken care of. Definitely play again
Good course, needs recovery from winter.
The course is good overall, fairways are good, greens are rough from winter, but rolling fast. We had a very windy day, changed the way the course plays made it challenging. Very slow groups ahead, made for a long day, no one behind us. At full rate a bit of a stretch.
Just amazing
Was my first time playing Connecticut National and wow what a deal! That course is easily one of the top 5 layouts I’ve played and for the price it was an absolute steal! Will definitely be back when the weather gets nicer and go back frequently!
Great Value
Excellent course for serious golfer with great variety of hole types. We had a couple beginners ahead of my group that slowed pace of play a bit. Very good conditions for early spring. For $55 with cart, Excellent value. Must play course!
Common courtesy to relate the rules as well as the condition of the greens before you play
I don’t expect a lot for spring golf as far as the conditions but the greens were in horrible shape, worse than I ever remember them. It looked like the greens were damaged at some point and still needed time to grow and if that’s not bad enough the greens were aerated on top that and no one mentioned these things at the time that I was paying. Then as we go to the first tee the starter stated keep carts on cart path only because of the rain, again that would have nice to know when I was paying. I don’t like the feeling that I’m being taken advantage of. I normally love the course during the prime season but the condition of the course has a long way to go before it will be ready.
Lived up to the hype
Played on Sunday . Other than the cold weather and winds our group had a great time. Looking forward to coming back when the weather is better

Connecticut National Golf Club is perfectly suited for amateurs who compete at the USGA and/or US Open qualifiers. From the black tees is about 6936 yards. It is one of the few golf courses with 5 PAR 3s, 4 PAR 5s, and 9 PAR 4s. I like the variety of different holes, short, midrange, long, and a few very long PAR 3, 4, and 5.
This year I feel very comfortable reaching all the GIR.
I like it that the golf course is far from any of the major highways. You cannot hear any noise except from maybe an airplane or two.
The golf course is not crowded when I play which is perfect for me.
Highly recommended.
For March in New England it’s a Win
Greens are in really good shape for this time of year. Course was a bit wet but only plugged one ball so not to bad. Carts were about 50/50 as far as cart path only on certain holes. All in all is was a great day to be outdoors. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous as well.
