About
Wheeler Family Traditions Golf Club (formerly known as The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford) is one of the most affordable rounds in the area and it has received praise as one of the best golf courses in Connecticut. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will also find it to be a fun round. The holes are fairly straightforward though there are some fairways that have very narrow landing areas that will test the accuracy of even the best golfers. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed along the undulating greens and water also comes into play on the occasional hole. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging on the back nine. The most memorable hole on the golf course, the par-3 12th, is a water hole that features an intimidating island green.

Why is there been a cartpath limit for virtually the whole year?
Price
The course is a fun course but $75 is steep just because it’s a Sunday. I find all courses in Ct are over charging. I understand everything is up but having backed up holes and the waiting on every tee gets old fast. Also the carts stink. We had to push the cart 3 times to get it to go and we were on the cart path. Cart #10
Nice Morning
The course was in good shape and damp from the recent rain. The pace of play was good overall with a solid number of golfers on the course.
Cart paths only for no good reason
The course was dry except for a couple of areas on a few holes. The carts gave gps so they have the ability to make speciific areas off limits to carts. The superintendent made the entire course cart paths only apparently from his bedroom. The course opens at 730 am. Our 12 tee times were 8-830. It was sunny and dry. The rough was high and the hitting areas are wide. We had difficulty finding our drives. Had to carry many clubs to each ball, often far from the cart. The round was nearly 5 hours because of the ruling. Totally un enjoyable. The superintendent needs to get out and drive tge course abd adjust his decision on a hike by hike basis and change it as the conditions change. Not going vack

The course was in good shape, greens were great to.putt, course in good shape
Green conditions are horrible
The condition the greens are in is absolutely unacceptable. I will never play here again

Course is nice and well kept. Only issue was the day we played it was cart path only and my friend and I are both challenged.
Golf
The starter let out a group of 8, 6 adults, 2 children,
Even though they’re only going nine holes is slowed up the whole course. This shouldn’t hadhappened. It ended up being a 5 1/2 hour round.
Dang power lines!
Not that bad a layout until you get to 16 & 17. Don’t think they fit with the rest of the course. But then again there are those annoying power lines and poles everywhere.
