Back Creek Golf Club

Course was great..weather was very hot but game was enjoyable…the reason for the pace of play rating is because the group in front of us the 1:45 tee time were 14 minutes late and played at a very slow pace…it took 2 hours and 45 mins to play nine holes.

Sand traps were mud, no water on course, no trash cans on course

This course was great and challenging for any level of golfer. It was strategical in every way and a great course

Open course. Hills and sand traps. The course is very well maintained. Great fairways and greens. Great signage on the course from hole to hole. Great pace of play. We will definitely play this course again.

Played with the usual group on Father’s Day. We’ve played here before but usually on weekdays when there’s a decent promo rate. The course is in nice enough shape. The bunkers need work but they’re still working on stuff since Jaws-n-Co took over.

Given it was a weekend day, and a presumably big golf day at that, we expected certain things that we wouldn’t during the week. Namely, a Marshall, Starter, beverage cart, and the water stations to be in use.

None of that was the case. There was no Starter or Marshall, With the Marshall being the bigger issue since we ended up waiting on half the tee boxes for multiple foursomes before us (we’re a bunch of 95-105 players so we weren’t moving at a super quick pace; round was a total of 4:40).

Extended time on the course isn’t a huge deal and we’ve had times where we were holding people up as well. It happens. But the lack of on course water coolers on a 85+ degree day combined with no beverage cart seemed like a complete miss. There’s a bunch of father-child combos out there, make some extra cash hawking coord light and white claw! Or at least put coolers of water in your pre-existing stations.

End of the day, we had fun and got to ply some golf. Price to value, Back Creek is currently a weekday promo course. Given the comparable prices and difference in quality, I would play Odessa National or St Anne’s on the weekends and save Back Creek for midweek.

If you have played here before, you know how the course comes together at 8 &17. Both are par 3s that cross a pond. The 8th hole USE to play about 135 and the 17th USE to play about 170. Well, Ron and his infinite wisdom has change the last 4 holes. Play does NOT go over the pond anymore. Now, the 8 th hole plays just over 100yards and the 17th now plays 130 yards , from white tees. After that, the 9th and 18th have also been swapped . Not as big a deal breaker for me as those 2 holes run parallel towards the clubhouse. Personally, unacceptable! The two par 3s WERE an attraction for me and my group. Now it’s a deterrent. Guess I’m most upset with the fact no one told us about the switch. No one in my group had any idea till we get to the 8th tee and notice the markers are facing the wrong green .

I’ve seen reviews and reports how this new management group can screw up things at courses they run. This switch to make the course easier and not telling players up front is a problem for me and my group. With prices going thru the roof to play this game, my group will not be returning. Owners can do what they want with what they own, and customers, like me, can spend their money where ever they want. I/we will not be returning.

Fairways, tees & greens in good shape - traps ranged from good to horrific. Pace of play was ok, but very slow groups ahead of us. Honestly, $65 is a bit much for this course as-is. It's getting back to It's former condition, but still a ways to go...

After playing here 3 times last season and it being in the worst shape I’d ever seen it, I didn’t have high hopes going into my round on 5/13/24. Thankfully I wasn’t disappointed. The course is back to its former glory. I didn’t notice a bad spot anywhere on the courses playing surfaces. If I HAD to nitpick on something I guess I’d say the cart paths and the edges of the grass that touch them are pretty beat up. Waited a little longer then I’d like to at the turn for 2 dogs and 2 beers but not the end of the world. Would have liked to see bag covers on the back of the carts incase of a quick shower. All in all I’ll definitely be back to play again.

Fairways, rough, and greens all in need of mowing, especially the rough. Bunkers in disarray, not worth your time or money.

Tee time was 8:36am, starter was immediately trying to wave us over early at 8:25 while we were on the chipping/putting green, we stick the schedule and like to warm up and get a feel for greens, typical bogey golfers. After we tee off, they let a single go behind for some reason, they should’ve let that person go first, common sense isn’t too common I suppose. The golf carts were slow, they had a ball wash and club wash on the carts, neither of them had water in them and they wouldn’t get us a pitcher of water to put in the cart, cmon man tell the starter to do his job and maybe try looking better. There were no water coolers at any of the tee boxes, kind of annoying because the kitchen isn’t open to even get us some water. There wasn’t a beverage cart either. Bunkers need major help, almost all of them require you to pick up 1/4inch stones or just move the ball entirely, fabric showing, staples laying around, some fairway bunkers were mostly clay with sand being washed out into the middle. There were no yardage markers, not even a 150 marker. Other than that it was an ok course.

The course was in terrible shape two years ago and I promised myself to never play again. New ownership has helped the course conditions and it's playable once again. Five years ago it was a great course with consistently good condition fairways and greens. Worth the money at $50, as long as the pace of play keeps rounds under 4 hours....

Like the layout. Confusing on the par 3 #8 hole and #17 hole . Greens were aerated and cart path only. Would play again

Good day and under 3 hour single player round. Windy but still fun.

I had read the recent reviews and decided to take a chance on the course to see for myself. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the course was. It was nice to see a public golf course that still has so many bunkers that are well-maintained. The greens were in very good condition, as well.

I will return to play it again.
